The hotel

Conrad New York Downtown is a statement hotel in a stunning location, overlooking the Hudson River from its spot in Lower Manhattan’s Battery Park City. As you step into its sky-scraping 15 storey lobby, it’s ready to wow: there’s the instant impact of its bold design; the multi-storey art installation by Sol LeWitt; the 24 hour fitness hub; and the sophisticated dining of ATRIO. But it does save some pleasures for higher floors. As you scale this all-suite hotel’s grand stairways, you reach more than 2,000 works of gallery worthy art; luxurious 2 room suites for all guests; and, the cherry on the top, a seasonal rooftop deck where small plates, ‘Prosecco & Ice Pop’ cocktails, and Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor views all vie for top billing.

Paid expensively with points. I am a diamond member but no upgrade was provided. However, extra dining credit was provided to compensate for this. Encountered issues with the water dispenser but it was fixed one hour and 20 minutes after reporting. Breakfast was good. Love the rooms

I stayed here for two nights on business in November for a conference down the street. The hotel is incredibly clean and well maintained. The rooms themselves were larger than i expected, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how great the shower was. It was almost like a separate room within the hotel… Read more

We had 33 rooms booked for our son's wedding. If we could give this property 20 stars out of 10 we would. Fabulous service from the Bell Captains, Front desk, food and beverage staff, our wonderful Glenda who serviced our room. My husband and I had a delightful stay at the Conrad. Both the hard and soft products are exceptional. The suites are spacious, beautiful, and well maintained. Though our room was not sold as a river view, we had a peekaboo view of the water. We left the room at different times each day, and housekeeping promptly and thoroughly cleaned our room each time. We also really enjoy staying in downtown, as there are plenty of restaurant and bar options without the chaos of staying in typical tourist areas. I had a minor billing issue on my portfolio, and after a couple follow ups, the hotel resolved the issue. We did have an odd incident occur the last day of our trip, a couple hours before check out. My husband left the room (without any bags or luggage) to go get breakfast while I stayed back in the room to finish getting ready. About five minutes after he left, someone entered our room using a key card and without knocking or announcing themself. Only when I called from the bedroom to see if it was my husband, did they say “housekeeping” and then promptly leave without saying another word. I was hopping in the shower about a minute later, so I’m glad they didn’t walk in then! I told my husband about the incident when he got back and he told me that housekeeping had watched him leave our room. I am hoping they are just overzealous and this was not a nefarious act to get into our room, but regardless, it was a little unsettling. Read less

The Conrad is such a cool hotel tucked away on a calm street in a nice neighborhood in FI-DI. The suites are huge and the service is very good. Being away from the crowds of mid town is such a treat. I wish the bar was more modern and nicer. For such a high end property it’s a rather pedestrian bar. Not much selection and the room has low ceilings… Read more
