Lotte New York Palace

Midtown, New York

Virgin rating

The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. It's a place where the staff greet you as if they have known you all their lives, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is one of the best in Manhattan, right in the middle of Midtown, but hidden away in a gated courtyard. There's dining options suited to all at the Lotte New York Palace, from luxury brunch to baked goods, whatever you opt for you'll be in for a treat. Enjoy handmade cocktails in one of Manhattan's most popular bars, Trouble's Trust, or relax in 19th century-style surroundings in Rarities - either make for the perfect post-day-in-the-city tipples.

Christian Ribeiro, concierge, is amazing. He is very helpful, kind and welcoming. If you stay at this hotel, be sure to speak with Christian as he well give you great advice. The hotel staff is top notch - from housekeeping, to the gents who deliver you in-dining order to the staff in the lobby, everyone was terrific!

Fantastic location and beautiful hotel. The service was the best I’ve experienced in NYC. The rooms are a good size for the city and even though we were only on the 14th floor is was nice and quiet. The only downside were the beds (felt like a cheap mattress) and they invite you to text for service but no one replies.

Lotte New York Palace is our favorite NYC hotel! We had a room on the 45th floor with a gorgeous view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockefeller Theater. My wife had worked with our local travel agent and Isabella, one of the hotel concierges, to book transportation and make restaurant reservations for our stay. Everything went well - our car was actually even able to pick us up after the Yankees game - and we had a great visit! Unfortunately, I had put my iPad in the room safe and stood it against one side of the safe. We both missed seeing it even though we looked in that safe multiple times. I only discovered it missing when we got to LaGuardia airport. My wife called Isabella and she arranged for Security to go to the room and retrieve it. Isabella even followed up to ensure that it was FedEx’d to us from Lost & Found! It arrived today and I am so thankful. I lose a lot of electronics and this is the first time I have ever had a hotel actually find and mail one back to me! Thank you very much Isabella for being a wonderful concierge! Thank you to the Palace for going above and beyond in mailing the iPad home! Read less

This was a family summer vacation with my two teenage daughters. I wanted to show them the iconic New York City and I felt this is the perfect hotel to do so. It was perfectly located steps from Rockefeller and st. Patrick’s Cathedral, and walking distance to Central Park, Times Square and many other locations. The hotel itself had so much history and we enjoyed seeing some of the rooms of the mansion. We did the Gold Room three of the four nights we were there, for a wind down after the city itinerary. I tried a new martini each night and my girls would have mocktails. The truffle fries and the cheesecake were to die for. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We saw a Broadway show and we were able to easily walk to the theater. We are planning to come back during Christmas to see the Rockettes. Can’t wait! Read less

We stayed three nights, had a room on 38th floor overlooking St Patrick’s Cathedral, no issues with the hotel, room was comfortable and staff friendly. Wedding not eat in the hotel and went nearby for breakfast, either Smilers or New York Luncheonette.
