The hotel

New York's Refinery Hotel provides a stylish and elegant twist within an exceptional Midtown location. This is all about living the high life and you only need to glimpse at the Refinery's décor and exhibition space to know that they take their art as seriously as they take their patrons' comfort. From the incredible views from the rooftop bar to Parker & Quinn's inspired Euro-American gourmet menu, the Refinery enables you to have a fabulously chic experience in the heart of NYC's most fashionable district. The Empire State Building, Bryant Park and the Museum of Modern Art are all right on your doorstep and after a good day's shopping on 5th Avenue there's no better way to kick off your heels than at Winnie's Jazz Lounge with some live music and a cocktail or two to ease you into the evening. Parker & Quinn's Restaurant, the Refinery Rootop and the Hatbox gallery space all offer plenty of options as the sun sets and before you finally retire to your room you'll have one last chance to consider the fitness suite before you cosy into your crisp and comfy queen-size bed.

This hotel has a nice lobby, nice front desk staff but falls short of so many things. The lighting indoors is terrible. We had a few issues with the room and the staff addressed one, not the other and then never followed up to like say sorry? As a 5 star hotel, I just have higher expectations. This was not cheap. Also the gift card bonus is a scam because they'll give you a $25 credit to use at the hotel but you have to use it at the "store" and everything costs $50. Read less

From the moment we arrived very early everyone was super accommodating. Even when shifts changed the service was spot on. We would come back in a second. We had a great room with a view of the Empire State Building if you looked close enough! 😂

A little birdie told me - Soon to be RENOVATED This is great news because this sassy and historic hotel in the hub of the garment district has seen so many since the last refresh more than a decade ago. Most rooms are larger than a typical NYC hotel experience. Make sure to book directly with the hotel to avoid not getting the room type you need, especially if you are traveling with 2 people, requiring 2 Q beds. Slippers, robes and Luggage racks are provided, including the cute pour over coffee in the rooms. You can request an additional refrigerator should you need to store your own food. The mini fridge is dedicated to the goodies they provide for extra and Ice, available on request or Odd numbered floors. Ear plugs are available, since the streets of NY tend to be loud, with car honking that you can hear. The temperature controls seemed to be on a program no matter what we did to make a change, some blowing cold and the other blowing hot. All lights randomly came on at one point, strange. The beds were comfortable, and towels were fluffy. Loved the large size shampoos, body wash and lotions. There is an ironing board and a safe in the closets. More hangers available upon request, which we needed. The restaurant for breakfast was great, good options. Rooftop in the same hotel - major convenient, with the best view of the Empire State Building. The Jazz bar was a treat and great place to meet friends before going out for the night. I ended up taking the Shuttle bus from Bryant Park for $25 back to Newark - It was a short 10 min walk- right in front of ZARA. All in all, a good location. Can't wait to come back and visit after the renovations! Read less

Another great stay at the Refinery. The staff is always consistently friendly and helpful. The rooms are timeless and the location is perfect. Highly recommend spending your Saturday morning in Bryant Park. This is the best place to stay in NYC.
