Second time I’ve stayed here for marathon weekend. Expensive due to the event but unavoidable. Nice hotel, good location and friendly reception and housekeeping staff. Lobby staff expect a tip to store luggage on departure and expect a further tip to retrieve it.. day of departure not many people carry cash and use cards but sneered at when you… Read more

It was NYC marathon weekend, and while we weren't running, it was so fun watching the responsiveness of the hotel to the runners (we didn't feel cheated! They were wonderful to us too!) Our room was comfortable and cleaned daily. Check in and check out was a breeze and the hotel gym was well equipped with cardio and strength training equipment. The location was perfect - quickly walked to Times Square, Broadway shows, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park and subway (which we could jump right on for a quick ride the Amercian History Museum, 9/11 Museum, and Central Park). We got in our Lyft at 5am in the morning to fly home and the staff were just as friendly, kind, and helpful as they were all weekend - a great experience! Read less

Good hotel in a great location, clean and functional and friendly staff. We had a 12th floor standard room (2 double beds) which was a good size so managed 3 of us living out of 2 suitcases for 5 nights! And with a view of the Edge! A fantastic base to see the city - 5 minutes from Times Square, 10 mins from Bryant Park (which is lovely!) and… Read more

A fantastic base to see the city - 5 minutes from Times Square, 10 mins from Bryant Park (which is lovely!) and easy to navigate to all the big attractions. Noise from the street (sirens and car horns) could be heard during the night but it’s to be expected being in the centre and the location more than makes up for it. 7-eleven and fast food places just over the road which were really handy for breakfast or a pizza slice! Also may be useful to know cabs often park or can be flagged down easily outside the hotel for returning to the airport if needed. Overall, a great stay! Read less

I am a Platiunum Bonvoy member so we chose this location given it is part of the Marriott family. Location is amazing, easy walking distance to Times Square, Madison square gardens, Central Park……lots of food and shopping options right outside the hotel. Check in was fast and efficient. I will mention that the person who checked us in at the Elite desk was not super friendly or informational. He did not tell us about the restaurant credit that is included with the daily destination fee on your room ($35). I had put a note on file prior to arriving that we were celebrating a special occasion and he made no effort to recognize this at all. However another couple travelling with us checked in at the regular desk and were served by Mary Jane. She was engaging and informational and even gave them some special gifts given they were celebrating. Kudos to Mary Jane as she was a wonderful first impression. We had breakfast 3 times at the restaurant buffet. As many have mentioned it is a weird set up. The line often extends into the buffet area which is small but selection is pretty good - no made to order eggs but still good variety and tasty. Our breakfast was included with our stay but at $36 per person, I’m not sure the value was there if we had to pay for it. But the service is amazing at the breakfast. The staff were so friendly and fast. We also dined one evening at the restaurant/bar. It is quite small. Service is nowhere near the level of the breakfast crew. The food however was quite tasty and a decent price and we could use our credit against the bill. The rooms were lovely. You can’t go wrong with Westin beds. And the toiletries were all provided and were the usual Westin White tea brand (love that stuff). Room was cleaned daily and free water bottles were left daily. Nice little fridge, working safe……no minibar but the 7/11 across the street has lots of beverages to stock up on. The Top View sightseeing hop on hop off bus stops right outside the front door of this hotel which is very convenient. Overall I really enjoyed our stay at this property and cannot fault it for anything. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Heavenly beds and heavenly staff make for a great weekend getaway to NYC

Our journey to NYC involved a delayed flight from the West Coast. We began messaging the staff at the Westin via the Marriott Bonvoy app saying instead of a 12am arrival we’d be in at 7am. They confirmed our room would be ready for us and we just needed to swing by the reception desk to get our keys. From the time we set foot on property to the time we sunk into our heavenly beds, we were welcomed warmly by every staff member. The reviews we read prior to selecting this property did not match our experience at all. We stayed in Room 4441. The room matched and exceeded our expectations. The room was large and extremely comfortable. We appreciated the well stocked gift shop off from the lobby. If you want a less expensive option there’s a 7-Eleven across the street. I mean, after an unexpected red eye flight, grabbing a $8 Celsius was ok! Know you can stock up with other items nearby! The Westin was our home for the weekend as we came to see shows at the Hudson and Hirschfeld Theaters. Both are easy to access by foot from the hotel. Read less
