Stayed here in connecting rooms in June and came back again in July. It’s located near lots of high end shopping and about 15 minute walk to NYU and Washington Square Park. Rooms are very clean and beds are super comfortable. Rooms were small though may be typical for NYC-certainly not a hotel room to relax and spread out in. Definitely aims to be chic and trendy. Mobs of beautiful people swarming lounge and lobby area on a Friday night. Restaurant had lovely outdoor seating for breakfast. During our first stay we paid extra for some kind of higher end room and though it had an extra window I thought our other room was nicer. The bathroom door wasn’t working properly in the more expensive room and the bathroom had an unglazed window that we thought didn’t afford optimal privacy. During our second stay we had a cheaper room and on the 4th floor got blasted and thumped out of our beds by the pulsating music from the happening lounge. Also we had cancelled and rebooked our room. When we went to check out the lady referenced our 2 rooms. I was utterly confused as we most definitely had only 1 room and no one mentioned a second room at check in. I’m glad I realized she was about to charge us for 2 rooms. I realized they probably hadn’t cancelled the first booking as requested. Fortunately I had emails to verify my request and their promise to cancel the booking. I felt a bit put on the defensive which I would not expect at this level of hotel. They presumably could verify no key had been issued and would think starting with benefit of the doubt is good customer service. No apology either when I produced emails verifying mistake was on their end. Would also say the doormen seemed pretty inattentive for this level of big city hotel. Having said that the Soho Grand is a good choice if you get a high floor and watch the front desk for mistakes Read less

Had the best check in experience with Barrington. If you have the pleasure of being taken care of by him consider yourself lucky!! I lived in this area and I love staying here. Definitely check out mamo across the street for dinner if you are a fan of Italian.

Denzel at the door was friendly and helpful with directions. The housekeeping staff, particularly Joanne, kept my room spotless. Checkout was a breeze thanks to Lei. The hotel is located within walking distance of subway lines, great shopping, and offers convenient in-house dining and entertainment options. Tip: The lighting in the hotel is on the darker side, which may require a flashlight for some guests, but it adds to the cool vibe of the place. I hope this helps! Read less

Loved our greeting by Barrington Roberts. He was so kind and personable and made weary travelers feel great ! Welcomes with a smile and apologized for some issues he could not solve. Felt genuinely disappointed he could not help. He is. A gem Prosecco and smiles and great local advice. He is an asset!!!
