The hotel

Put yourself slap-bang in the middle of some of San Francisco’s most fashionable theatres, restaurants, and sights. The boutique Marker Hotel is a great base — and its energy matches its setting. It was built in 1910 but you can still see its ‘Beaux Arts’ beauty in the lobby’s floor-to-ceiling fireplace and grand marble staircase. The hotel’s anything but olde-worlde though, with little touches like WiFi, and a Hydration Station providing fruit and herb infused water on tap.

Where is it

In the Tenderloin/Lower Nob Hill area of San Francisco, near Union Square’s shopping, the theatre district, museums, and endless dining. The hotel is also close to the Financial District and Moscone Convention Center. Transfer time from San Francisco International airport: 15 minutes.

My partner and I stayed for 5 nights ( as a break from our anniversary trip from the UK to Las Vegas) and it was the best decision to stay at The Marker. Bedroom facilities were comfortable and clean and shower/ soaps very good quality. All staff including reception / management and housekeeping could not have been more helpful and all contributed to a memorable experience of San Francisco. We ate in the restaurant just 1 night and food was exceptional and the only reason we didn’t eat there again was because we wanted to experience other restaurants during our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel - it is in a perfect location for transport links & shopping . Do not be put off by the tragic homeless situation - we never felt threatened or concerned as this is now a major issue in a lot of cities. The Marker is definitely a place to stay and would like to say a big thank you to all the staff. Read less

I stayed here for 3 nights It was an amazing experience The room was clean and the shower products are speechless I never tried anything better The employees are very friendly and kind The restaurant is very nice For sure if I come back to San Francisco I will book this hotel again

Very clean hotel, amazing people and employees, amazing products to take your best shower, nice bed and very kind people, near union square so the best position in the middle to old town and the modern city I recommend this hotel, I am Italian and I wanted to tried also the restaurant and it was really good
