The Edgewater

Seattle, USA

The hotel

Sitting right on top of Pier 67, this is Seattle's original waterfront hotel and quite the local landmark. It’s always been a quirky and cool spot, since it was built in 1962 — KISS parked their platform boots here and The Beatles once famously fished out of their hotel room window. We don’t recommend that, of course, but you can imagine the playful and chilled vibe that you get at the the Edgewater. Expect quirky, cosy rooms with beautiful views of Elliott Bay, happy hours showcasing amazing house concoctions, and a restaurant serving the freshest organic and local dishes. Take in a bit of live music at the weekend and dine outdoors to make the most of those water views.

I'm very disappointed in any business that adds charges (no matter the amount) after a price has been given, agreed upon, and paid.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Poor wi-fi, and poor value. Good food.

For about $550+ a night, we got a cute looking room with a good view. We did not get wi-fi. We did not get any meals included, such as a continental breakfast. We were counting on the wi-fi so we could work remotely part of the time and had to explain to our colleagues why we could not work as expected. Very embarrassing and negatively impacted… Read more

We were counting on the wi-fi so we could work remotely part of the time and had to explain to our colleagues why we could not work as expected. Very embarrassing and negatively impacted work deliverables. And the hotel basically told us, well, there's no wi-fi in the rooms on this side. That is not acceptable for a luxury hotel in the center of a major City that says it has wi-fi. On the plus side, the hotel breakfast and dinner was excellent, and were the restaurant and bar staff were extremely friendly. Read less

Came for a stay in The Beatles Suite, what a hoot (expensive, but hey, it was someone's birthday)! Huge suite done up as a salute to the Fab Four -- super spacious for the two of us and a couple of dinner guests. Brought a fishing pole for us goofballs to reenact the famous picture of John, George, Paul & Ringo hanging out the window (be forewarned that "inconvenient" safety rail added to keep tourists from falling into Elliott Bay makes fitting that many adults in the window pretty difficult). Room service was absolutely fabulous, wonderful service, delicious food. The picture window views were incredible, fun to watch a cruise ship setting sail, and we got very lucky and saw a transient orca pod. We did have noise from wedding party on the floor above us, but fortunately their party died down about 11 p.m. Read less

nice location, cozy lobby, nice restaurant. The front desk staff were not welcoming and they charged me incorrectly. The furnishings in the room was very warn. Just didn't feel like it was worth the expense. Other nicer options in Seattle exist.

Great location with amazing views. It was unfortunate that the air conditioning in our room did not work. Very poor night sleep. The front desk staff was surely and acted like I was doing them a favor by staying there. Very clean property with a nice view from the lobby.
