We stayed for 4 nights. We couldn't get hot water in our room, we called every day, and the staff continued to give us a runaround, they wouldn't move us to another room or another hotel. Finally the final morning it was "fixed" to scalding hot, having the faucet in the sink on cold was boiling hot as well. The breakfast was holiday inn quality,… Read more

Finally the final morning it was "fixed" to scalding hot, having the faucet in the sink on cold was boiling hot as well. The breakfast was holiday inn quality, we had a little the first morning and just bought breakfast the other days. There is also a lot of homeless and drug use around the hotel, however that is quite a bit of Austin, so I'm not sure you can avoid that. Read less

Link and Dallas were awesome, nice, and very helpful. They helped us up to our room with a cart full of stuff. The guy at check in was so welcoming and kind! The rooms are clean and very roomy. Definitely recommend based on staff and friendliness alone. The free breakfast was the icing on the cake!

The location is greta. Downtown and close to everything including 6th Street and Rainey St. Walk to shopping and restaurants. The elvators are fast, but they're loud . We could hear them in our room on the 14th floor. The complimentary breakfast is very good. Lots of variety and they keep everything fresh and hot. The friont desk is attentive and greets you each time you enter the lobby, regardless the hour. The fitness center was adequte, but we did wish they had an outdoor pool. The bed was comfy. but the pillows were inadequate. The TV was easy to use (sometimes they are not!) Read less

Our first impression of the Hyatt Place Austin Downtown was the Valet. We pulled up to the hotel, and they immediately went into action, helping us unload our luggage. We decided to use the valet parking. It was $57 a day; however, our sense of security and safety for our car and its contents made it worth the cost. Check-in was a quick process.… Read more

We decided to use the valet parking. It was $57 a day; however, our sense of security and safety for our car and its contents made it worth the cost. Check-in was a quick process. The morning breakfast buffet was one of the best we have experienced. The hotel is dog-friendly, which is a requirement for us. We were on the 18th floor. We had a great view of downtown and the sunrise. The only issue we had was a loose closet door. After calling the desk, they sent a maintenance worker up and fixed it within the hour. The hotel is within walking distance of convention centers, restaurants, and the Congress Avenue Bridge, where you can view the famous bats. Read less

The hotel was in downtown Austin and you were within walking distance of many restaurants. The downside is parking as you have to valet and the cost of Valet overnight is $57.00 and if your conference goes past 3 pm, you have to not only pay the Valet overnight of $57.00 but you also have to pay the Valet daily rate. The hotel did not have hot… Read more

The hotel did not have hot water on either night of my stay so that was not pleasant for myself nor for the other people who went to conference that I attended. Also, the hotel room had a dirty bathtub when I checked in and the bathtub did not drain well when taking a shower. The positive about this place is the breakfast is included in your stay and the breakfast has a large variety of foods including fresh orange juice included with the price of your stay. The blankets are more like sheets in this hotel and they are not warm at all so if you get cold, make sure you ask for a lot of blankets as these are basically glorifed sheets. Read less
