From the beginning of our stay to the end, it was TOP NOTCH. Cindy at the front desk was amazing, wished my son a happy birthday right when she realized we were there to celebrate. They even had a surprise cake and custom note sent up to our room to surprise him! Room was so clean, beds were super comfy, and it was definitely a 5 star experience.… Read more

I don't usually write reviews, but felt I needed to share in case anyone is considering using the spa facilities here... It was a mother/daughter mini vacation and we live in the neighboring city of San Antonio. The hotel itself was beautiful, food and staff were amazing, as well. FYI - when I booked the trip the parking & breakfast were included per the booking agent, when I got to the front desk that was not the case of which I accepted gracefully. HOWEVER, we visited the *SPA* and booked a facial, pedicure and massage. The pedicure was beyond awful and extremely painful...my big toe was bleeding with a chunk of cuticle missing and to top it off, my daughter mentioned that it hurt, and she said, it has to be done! I have never paid so much for this type of poor service. The massage and facial were fabulous with the exception of having a *SEVERE REACTION* and still today have a very red, swollen face which has made it hard to attend my work meetings. When my daughter tried to advise the spa manager on duty, she brushed it off. I will say, the director of the spa checked on me. I didn't ask for a credit/refund on anything, but was told some of the charges would be removed. I was not told there would not be a facial recovery time and I couldn't attend an outing the evening after. **This morning I woke up, still with a swollen face, charges beyond my initial services, and have decided, I won't be visiting in the future!!! **ON A GOOD NOTE , we managed to go paddle boarding (walking distance from the hotel and eat at CORINNE (next door in the MARRIOTT) and it was wonderful and the food was decadent! Beautiful hotel. Excellent staff! Clean. Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Great pool area. Ice machines are of high quality and provide an abundance of ice! We were there for a convention but never had to wait long for the elevators, and the hotel and convention center are connected by an open walkway above the street. We had a king room on the 15th floor. The shower wasn't working correctly, and they sent help immediately to fix it! There were extra towels BUT ONLY ONE HOOK TO HANG TOWELS! This was true in ALL the rooms! They say "Hang towels to conserve..." Not sure where you're supposed to hang them? This was a real snafu and a surprise for such a nice place, just really strange. BEWARE: A meal of two beverages and two burgers will run you $100 in the hotel restaurant. Do not pick up the water bottles on the dresser or any of the beverages in the mini fridge unless you plan to consume them! They are on sensors, and you will be charged if they are off the sensors for more than 40 seconds. ASK THE FRONT DESK TO PROVIDE WITH YOU A MINIFRIDGE FOR PERSONAL USE. Overall, this is a great place with attentive staff. Read less

This was my second stay at the Fairmont in Austin. The facility is beautiful and clean and the well-trained staff make everything pleasant and easy. Most mentionable this visit were Jesse, Valeska and Nature at the front desk and Fairmont Gold, Natalie and Isaias with Royal Service, Victor at the Fulton Bar, and Anibal with housekeeping.
