Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great location - near metro & attractions, rooms overlooking the park can also see Lincoln monument in the distance.

Great location & great stay. It is easy to get to most key attractions & near to a metro station. There was an issue at check in and the booking hadn't been confirmed at their end (apparently they had computer issue and bookings made for several days hadn't been confirmed, so it wasn't just us) - it meant check in was quite lengthy but the staff… Read more

There was an issue at check in and the booking hadn't been confirmed at their end (apparently they had computer issue and bookings made for several days hadn't been confirmed, so it wasn't just us) - it meant check in was quite lengthy but the staff were pleasant & reassuring. We were given a room overlooking the park so I think they may have given us a complimentary upgrade. Our room was lovely - stunning view over the park and the monument in the distance. We asked for an extra bed and they provided one, which was brilliant - room was plenty spacious to accommodate this as it meant we had 2 double / kings and a pull out bed for our family of 4. Room was well serviced and cleaned etc. Beds were comfortable and gave a great nights sleep. Security deposit was returned immediately after check in, check out was swift and easy. Would recommend & potentially stay again.. Read less

I had a junior suite quite large but in need of refurbishment. Bathroom was a bit small compare to the room size. The room in itself was very quiet and the bed super comfortable. Now for the less positive points: aircon is very very noisy, WiFi average, housekeeping badly done if it was done…, receptionists (had a few different ones) consistently… Read more

Now for the less positive points: aircon is very very noisy, WiFi average, housekeeping badly done if it was done…, receptionists (had a few different ones) consistently unfriendly. They do not seem to care at all for their customers. Manager never available to talk to. It’s a shame because this hotel could be so much better!! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Hotel is ok but don’t accept rooms ending with number 3. Rooms are ok but carpet is probably 100yrs old

Nov 15, 2024 Lysaiani Sao Paulo, SP

Rooms are ok, bed is comfortable, bathroom is spacious, shower ok, carpet on the floor is 100yrs old and looks dirty. Rooms ending with number 3 are close to the elevator and cleaning closet so they take all the noise from elevator machines, workers and guests coming in and out, so make sure you ask for another room number

You are definitely paying for the location as opposed to hotel amenities. The Hamilton is a very grand looking 1920's building with an equally grand lobby... beyond that, there's not much more to it. The restaurant/bar is alright, serving a mostly Italian menu in the evening. Breakfast is average, as is service. We didn't experience the fabled American hospitality. It was "hotel typical". We had a twin room which was quite large but only one clothes closet and two drawers beneath the TV. The tea/coffee facilities was in fact one of those pod machines so no endless cups of Yorkshire Gold for me! The bathroom was the usual for a hotel...small, no natural light, free shampoo,etc...but it was spotlessly clean and there were plenty of fluffy white towels. The beds were very comfortable and the automatic A/C kept the room at a pleasant 68°. The mini bar had sensor activated snacks on it. This seems to be a thing in American hotels these days. You get charged if you just pick them up...so don't pick them up. There is a safe and a second fridge so you're good for storing personal food and drink should you want to. That's basically all there is to tell... You are less than five minutes from the White House, the Lincoln Memorial and half an hour's walk to the Capitol and all the museums...and that is what you are paying for...a base of operations from which to 'do' Washington. A perfectly acceptable hotel that's more 3* than 4* I'd say Sainsbury's rather than Waitrose. Read less
