The hotel

Tenaya Lodge’s setting takes some beating — bordering the Sierra National Forest and set on 75 stunning acres, it’s surrounded by nature. The hotel has plenty of activities, including a choice of trails and a guided walk to a hidden waterfall. Grab your hiking boots, or maybe a mountain bike, and head out to explore. At the end of the day, take a dip in the outdoor pool, get a s’mores kit and sit around the outdoor fire pits, or grab your torch and head out on a night hike. Nice restaurant for dinner - also went to the pizzeria the second night which was so convenient to be on site. It was a bit basic in the pizzeria and really quiet so no atmosphere but we had a long day and enjoyed our food so it was fine. There are free smores ingredients in the main lobby. There was a little shop on site. The cleaning/housekeeping of the lodge was not great - we didn't have any spare change to leave a tip (but would have done it the second day) - so maybe that contributed but they really only did the absolute minimum and didnt get rid of our trash can/replenish the tissues etc so that was a shame. Hotel is only a couple minutes outside the south entrance so well located although its about an hour to the yosemite valley area. We didn't have to queue at all to get in the park (entered around 8am on a Friday in October). Make sure you see the south end of the park - e.g. the Mariposa Grove of giant Sequoias is there - you park and get a shuttle - great trees! Read less

Employees and staff very friendly. Don't bother eating in Jacalop restaurant, food was served cold on two occasions. Not worth it. Only place to eat is the Deli, can't go wrong with packaged sandwiches. If you're in to just eating cold cuts or lettus go for it.

We recently stayed down in one of the Explorer Cabins at Tenaya. My goodness, what an amazing place! These cabins are tucked away from the main resort (which is only a 5 min walk away), which meant they were quiet and peaceful. I really recommend the extra few dollars to book one. Overall, we were very happy with everything about Tenaya. I can… Read more

This is a great time to visit, if like us you don't like crowds and have good clothing for the chilly nights Read less

Beautiful lodge outside of Yosemite Park. Attended a conference and stayed a little longer. October is an amazing time of year to visit. Charming interior. Fire pits. Indoor and outdoor pools. Spa. Great food and service. Highly recommend.

Tenaya at Yosemite We lucked out when we found the Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp, just south of the southern entrance to Yosemite. We stayed there for 3 nights in September. What a beautiful place, with immaculate grounds and surrounded by trees. The main lobby area and the entire building with the restaurants, coffee shop and gift shop is so beautiful and nicely decorated. Our room was very nice, clean, updated, with a large bathroom and we had a great view overlooking the grounds and the main lodge entrance. The restaurants had good food and drinks, they were a bit spendy, but it was to be expected given the area we were in. I loved the outdoor dining area with fire pits, it was so relaxing and convenient after long hikes in Yosemite. We loved this place; we extended our stay because we didn't want to leave. They have washer and dryers available for customers to use, which we took advantage of. We were able to do several things in Yosemite from this base location. It's very close to the southern entrance. Make sure you reserve to get into Yosemite several days prior to arriving or you'll have to wait until late afternoon to get into the park each day. We will definitely stay at Tenaya the next time we visit Yosemite! Read less
