The hotel

SUAN BUA is where you can sample the most delicious Thai food in a suitably tranquil setting, overlooking a lotus pond. For Italian delights, Azzuri Mare is perfect, set beside the ocean, there are seafood platters to feast on, char-grilled entrees and sinful desserts. Coral Bar is one of the most impressive in the Maldives – more than just a bar it’s an entertainment centre with a lively sports bar.

In South Ari Atoll, amidst world-class coral and diving spots. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 25 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Family Overwater Villas feature a sundeck with direct lagoon access, bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi tub, PlayStation games console, 1 king-size bed, and bunk beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Club Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas feature duplex accommodation so it's an ideal choice for families or groups travelling together. The spacious villas offer a deck with sun loungers and a plunge pool, bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi tub, and 1 king-size bed plus a twin bed, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 kids.

We stayed here in early Nov in a sunrise villa. The sunrise is not straight out the sliding door, but you can see it easily from the deck. The villa had a comfortable bed, seating area, & a fridge. Glass bottles of water were always available. You can use the app & request an iron, beach towels, & other amenities for the room. There were disposable combs, razors, toothbrushes, etc, available. As a note, you will get full sun on the back deck all morning, and into early afternoon (no surprise), but there is very little shade if this is what you are looking for. The only con, was the bathroom was VERY hot. The room is air conditioned, but we had to keep the door to the bathroom (with toilet, shower, bathtub) closed off to keep the room cool. Not a deal breaker, but I couldn't use the jacuzzi, because the room would have been so hot. We were able to snorkel right out our back deck w/so many things to see. Snorkeling behind the dive center was even better. We saw turtles! The food was great, especially at the Thai restaurant. My husband loved the fish prepared at the Italian restaurant. The buffet was good, especially for breakfast, but I did feel lunch and dinner, though they had a variety of options, was typically the same, so I got tired of the food. The bars were great, though we spent the majority of the time at the bar near main reception. Bartenders were friendly & accommodating and always ready to make a new drink. Pro tip: bring a small insulated cup, so you can put your drink it, so it stays cool. Also, to note, besides your room & the spa, no dining or bars have AC. We didn't have alot of breeze, so it was really warm sometimes sitting outside. We took a turtle excursion & though our guide was great, we did leave late due to other guest arriving late, & the team waiting for them. And we returned early, so this was disappointing, though again, everyone was kind and friendly. My husband & I had the signature massage, 90 minutes, & we both thought this was an excellent use of our time. It was so relaxing, and the therapists were great about listening to input about what we wanted. Finally, we did the Thai cooking class, and adored this. So fun!! I will say it was listed as 2 hours, but we only had an hour class. But we still thoroughly enjoyed this, & would definitely recommend. Fantastic experience! Read less

Amazing experience staying in the Club sunset overwater villa. Great snorkelling straight off the villa. Stunning grounds. Fantastic service from the Centara team from airport arrival to throughout our stay on resort. Lovely food especially the Thai and Italian restaurants. We will definitely be returning.

Wonderful massage by exceptional therapist. ! Totally relaxing facial. Staff superb and spa luxurious. Calm massage rooms, before and after treatment exceptional, from welcome drink to hot shoulder towel at end of treatment. It was so good I repeated the experience!

My first time in the Maldives and Centura did not disappoint! All staff were very friendly, and the Resident Manager, Nalan, went above and beyond to making us feel welcome and checked in on us throughout our stay. Staff was also open to receptive feedback and made visible efforts to improve our stay. We appreciate your attentiveness and client-centeredness! We did so many different activities, including a sunset cruise, sunrise yoga, Pilates, scuba diving, snorkelling with manta rays, and spa treatment. Special shoutout to Joe for taking me scuba diving TWICE and convincing my family and I to try snorkelling with the manta rays — it was incredible! Also thank you to Susi for the massage, it was much needed and the perfect way to end my vacation here. The Italian restaurant was especially delicious — I’d eat there every lunch and dinner. I also enjoyed the Reef breakfast buffet, the pancakes crepes and French toast were my favourite! The donuts and cherry danish were also delicious! An area of improvement would be bigger portions for the main course at the Thai and Italian restaurants, and improved food at the Reef buffet.
