Our visit to Coconut Bay was very relaxing, and the resort has a lot to offer for our family of three. The water park, although small did keep our daughter entertained and the lazy river was a huge hit with us all. Most of the staff are nice and friendly, there were of course some that looked miserable and acted as if we were a big inconvenience. Staff that shone for us were Dona D, Edri, Marz, Emee, Skeet (who seemed to be working everywhere), Knight and the entertainment staff, but I didn't get their names. Speaking of entertainment, they really try to get people engaged without being overbearing. They lay on some good games in the afternoon and we loved the foam party on Friday's. Western night on Tuesday's was brilliant, loved it. Food is hit and miss, some nights it was wonderful, lots of choice and others it would be food that just didn't suit but obviously this comes down to preference . Overall it's okay, and there's always a kids choice too. Daughter loved the coconut ice cream and candy floss. Make sure you book to eat in Silk, it was the best, but the staff at the booking desk for dinner reservations are glum, no joy at all. The beach when we went was covered in seaweed but they do clear it up twice a day so it really isn't a big deal. You can still walk along the beach without getting tangled in the stuff. After reading some reviews I thought it would be a problem but it really wasn't. We tried kayaking and and did lots of snorkelling there, water is clearer than I expected. Pros Most staff are nice and welcoming. Lazy river. Water sport staff are helpful. Food is okay, some nights better than others. Stir Fry station is great, also the pancakes and French toast in the mornings. Silk is amazing. Desserts are fab. Not far to travel from the airport. Plenty of space. Cleanliness. Laundrette if needed. Decent TV channels (for those that like a bit of TV). Pools are areas are cleaned every day. Cons Place needs a refurbishment. The rooms are dated and the bathroom looks way past it's best. Some tiles on the floor around the pool/lobby area are uneven and lose. Couldn't use any of the new cabanas on the beach as they are for adults only which is a shame. Wifi is rubbish. Overall Coconut Bay was a hit with us. Read less

This resort was great as it’s right by the airport. We didn’t feel like driving to Castries as soon as we landed. Coconut Bay had the best beach out of the 3 resorts we stayed at. Be ready to pay Government taxes at the end of your stay that isn't mentioned in your package nor at the front desk when you arrive...thank goodness I always bring one credit card for emergencies while traveling. THE FOOD...OMG THE FOOD...this is why I gave a 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟...the food was ok with taste but the choices was HORRIBLE...we ate the same foods for 6 days...maybe 1 or 2 food items where switched up...alot of pork too much pork...they couldn't offer much of a beef nor turkey options. The chef gave one day with one pan of turkey bacon after my group of 65 people complained about the breakfast options...most do not eat pork...he honestly stated he can do one pan between the hours of 7 to 8 am...after that he can not make anymore turkey bacon...he did that to please us...but the other 5 days pork. This is the only reason why I gave a 4...the food wasn't enjoyable. Try to make reservations for the restaurants for dinner...better meals it's included with the all inclusive. Read less

3 stars seems a little off but 4 stars would be too much so lets go with 3.5! Our visit was Easter 2024 as a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 children ages 10 & 13. There are many positives to our trip but I have to be honest and list the things that bothered me a little and just made our stay a little less than perfect. As mentioned on here plenty of times the hotel is a stones throw from the airport, TBH I did see that as a negative at first (I wanted to visit St Lucia not just the airport) but for so many this is a huge positive and I have to admit the plane noise wasn't too bad. Generally half a dozen/up to a dozen flights per day and you only heard them as they passed the coast line on take off. I suspect depending on the time of year will depend on how busy the airport is. Going home is where I have to admit it was handy... literally round the corner and you're there; no long winding bus journey! Pros Smooth check in on arrival and offered a welcome drink Luggage taken to our room Room location was good Daily stock up of coffee and bottled water in room Overall the food was good, not the best I've had not the worst. Kids loved the breakfast smoothie station. Good choice at breakfast and we enjoyed Calabash and Silk several times for dinner. Some comment they were limited to one booking at each sit down restaurant during their stay but we we're able to secure each one 3 times. Admittedly you do need to queue at the booking desk with the unhelpful miserable staff member at set times of the week but it was busy when we were there and I was able to get a table if I was flexible on meal times Complimentary use of laundry machines - these were great and well kept. Take your own detergent (I bought some washing sheets from amazon before went to avoid detergent spillages in our case) My daughter needed to see the nurse (and doctor) a handful of days in. The nurse was very good. Arranged the doctor to visit that day (we weren't the only ones in need) Yes you pay a premium for the doctor service but it was worth it for us (no charge to see the on-site nurse) Dirty Banana cocktail is probably my favourite drink ever! Excellent Trip information desk were helpful and did their best to accommodate what we wanted to do - there does need to be a certain number of people for the trips to go ahead. Being busy in the hotel we had no issues and the trips ran. The day time entertainment team really try and are enthusiastic, being Easter while we were there they had egg hunts and games to play which we involved ourselves in and enjoyed The twice-a-week theme night is fun if you like that sort of thing. Especially the Caribbean night, although it did get quite hectic seating the entire hotel guests in one place. All restaurants close on these nights so it is outside buffet dining only. The buffet food wasn't the best on these nights, I personally preferred the restaurants. The beach. Many have put this as a negative but my expectation was met. This hotel is the Atlantic Ocean side so its choppy and has seaweed (Or more specifically Turtle Grass) But there is sand (I'm sure the time if the year depends on how much sand you can see) The hotel did a good job at clearing the seaweed as best as it could and brought more sand in; the sand was beautifully soft and you could take a nice stroll along the beach. There are vendors selling various things, we tended to wander by when they were busy talking to someone else so didn't have any issues being 'bothered'. Cons The room was old and really smelt musty (wasn't a fan of the motel style access to the rooms if I'm honest) The bed sheets were very scratchy Bed rock hard and very uncomfortable Huge stain on bedsheet - rather than change it was just turned inside out and put back on Bathroom is small and in dire need of an update Very little shower pressure Complimentary toiletries are a nice touch but they do not get replaced (and are tiny). One very small bottle of shower gel for 4 people isn't ideal. I liked the position of our room with the ground floor patio but this was very small with only 2 chairs. The downside of being ground floor and near a walk-way is everyone just stares at you as they walk by! (Clearly no fault of the hotel there!) Sunbed wars... goodness me it wasn't fun trying to get a bed. Its a 24hr pool so no restrictions on reserving sunbeds and wow did us Brits all crawl out of bed at 6am to get a spot... there were not enough parasols so to get a bed with one you had to reserve it by 6:30am. I hate to say I had to join this little ritual each morning, not sure if I was more annoyed at myself or everyone else for this. The staff. I found it very strange after reading such glowing reviews re the friendly staff but it was like we were invisible. We are a quiet family but do try and make conversation, it felt like we were being ignored - whether that be to get a drink or ask a question or have a chat. Rarely did we crack a smile out of anyone. Maybe this worked in our favour when it came to re-booking the restaurants... they didn't remember we'd already been! I have to mention one of the pool-bar staff who by the end of our stay made the effort and got us our favourite drink with barely an instruction! I wish I could remember his name, he was great. Our kids were also ignored, being quiet and quite shy they would get pushed out of the way by other kids and totally ignored during any games or quizzes they were trying to join in on. Our last day the lobby bar waiter commented on us having seemingly just arrived... nope we'd been there for 13 days with tans to show for it... Joking aside it was strange! We'd seen him every night ! Mistakes are allowed of course but another impression of our invisibility! The water-park is not a water park! It's a couple of slides. Better than nothing for sure, it did close for a few days for maintenance while we were there but my oldest daughter enjoyed it and it helped break the day up, even if for 5 minutes We enjoyed the lazy river Bugs. Oh wow! I do not know what feasted upon my skin that holiday but I was covered in a shed load of bites. I never get bitten, like ever in any country I visit! These did not seem like your typical mozzy bite though and I was not alone, I saw many other people covered too. They were VERY itchy and painful, they also stayed that way for weeks - I'm sure I have scars 4 months on. Bug spray didn't seem to do anything and I never saw anything to be the culprit but something was certainly having a delicious meal out of me. Wi-Fi is non-existent. I didn't go on holiday to sit on my phone so it wasn't a big deal to me but I can imagine this is a little behind the times for many people who rely on having some sort of decent connection. The buffet area / lobby area hasn't got aircon so it gets very hot. I struggled with that when eating. Crepe making at breakfast is desperately slow - join that queue first!! Overall I think what bothers me about our trip is how much it cost vs the service and standard we received. We paid a premium for our 2 week all-inclusive holiday but I felt it wasn't a premium resort so just do not feel it was worth the amount we paid. If we'd got a bit of a bargain I suspect this would be a very different review. It's strange to me to write a negative review when I feel so incredibly lucky to have visited such a beautiful island - but my thoughts are out there now and maybe it'll help someone looking into options. If you've made it to the end of my review, thank you! Read less
