We have been coming here for years, and in the last year or two there have been major improvements— upgrades in accommodation, a new infinity pool, wi-Fi in every room, and the food is consistently good, even including smoked salmon with capers in the breakfast choices! Our holiday didn’t start well! We booked direct with the hotel which entitled us to a taxi from the airport directly to the resort, however the taxi dispatcher spent 20 minutes trying to put us in taxis going to multiple resorts. Eventually they found a lovely couple who had pre-booked transport to the Hawksbill and we travelled with them. Finally arrived at the resort tired where we were offered a drink, warm beer, not a great start. Were upgraded to a beachfront villa, very nice, clean, hot water and fresh towels daily. The resort is large with lots of space and is spectacular. Pretty much the best vista we have seen in the Caribbean. Beaches clean, sea beautiful and lots of activities including kayaks, paddle boards, snorkelling and hobby cats. We felt very safe walking around the resort day and night, it is very well lit, however no cover if it rains. The staff at the resort were wonderful including the non-customer facing staff such as maintenance, gardening and house keeping. Food is mainly buffet, good quality and surprisingly always hot. As with most of the Caribbean, we find some things don’t go together but we certainly didn’t go hungry. Our main gripe is both of the bars have no bar stools so there is no real socialising to be had with other guests. This is important to us and lots of other guests we spoke to round the pool or in the sea. We had seen reviews about the entertainment finishing before 10pm, which we thought odd, however it would seem the hotel understands its clientele as there was a mixture of ages while we were there and Sea Grapes was getting empty at 9pm and by 10pm, not many people were there. It was low season when we were there. We also saw reviews about cats which made us apprehensive because we aren’t keen on feral cats. We have been to a number of hotels in the Caribbean where feral cats plague the dining areas, we are thinking the Rodney Bay Area of St.Lucia among others. However, we found just one 3 legged cat around the resort which kept itself to itself and didn’t come into the restaurant while people were eating. We can’t say that about the ducks, but they didn’t bother us at all. Whilst there are no tvs in the rooms, the WiFi is very strong around the resort so we found no trouble streaming anything we wanted. Overall, we had a very relaxing, wonderful time and we would definitely go again and have already booked to return. Read less

We’ve been to many places that were memorable to us but Antigua has the 1st place on our top 3 best holidays. And I think this is mainly because of the hotel. A resort in the middle of the paradise, with access to 4 private beaches, surrounded by nature, birds chirping and singing, stunning views from anywhere you look and very friendly staff who made our stay even more special! I absolutely loved and will remember those 7 days forever! Thank you Hawksbill Resort, you made our dream come true!💗 Read less

We stayed for 2 weeks in November in a beach front bungalow, the views were the best anywhere in the world. The room was clean with comfy beds but could do with refurbishment. The plus side were the views from the top bar which were fabulous. The staff are brilliant. Food at breakfast and lunch at the beach bar was good. The beach on Sea Grapes is great. What needs attention is you are given 2 small water bottles on arrival which should be refilled at water dispensing locations but these were mostly empty and would have to wait ages to be refilled. Beach towels are another issue, we only changed our once in 2 weeks as there are never any available, apparently only when the laundry get them ready, which could be anytime of the day and once they arrive at the water sports hut they are gone within minutes. The dinner at night must be the worst we have experienced in any of the all inclusive resorts we have stayed in. I know we didn't pay 5 star prices but you would expect much better as the stay was not exactly cheap. The beach loungers on sea grapes are worn out and very uncomfortable. We did enjoy our stay and met some really nice people but would not rush to return unless they sort out these niggles. Read less
