The hotel

Renowned for its stunning turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and vibrant marine life, The Hotel Riu Atoll offers a tropical paradise getaway on the private island of Maafushi. Families travelling with children can take advantage of the resort's kids club, where little ones can participate in supervised activities, games, and crafts meaning parents can enjoy some leisure time. Where is it

Located on the private island of Maafushi, which is part of Dhaalu Atoll, and is connected to neighbouring Riu Palace Maldivas by walkway. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 40 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

264 ocean views rooms. All with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, complimentary WiFi access, satellite TV, kettle, mini-bar, bathrobes, hairdryer, and safe. Bathrooms include a shower and double wash basin.

Double Standard rooms have 1 king-size bed or two small double beds, a sofa in the lounge area, and a balcony with sea views, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

24-hour All-Inclusive: all meals and snacks. Local and imported beverages served 24-hours a day. Regularly restocked mini-bar. Sports, activities and entertainment unless otherwise stated.

- Breakfast: varied buffet and live cooking station.

Spacious Superior Junior Suite - overwater rooms have 1 king-size bed or two small double beds, bathroom with separate tub and shower, and a terrace with a Balinese bed, plus direct access to the sea, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Very nice 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 staff in riu atoll especially bar staff was very nice.they look after us like a family.especially i want mention illu,ashan,kelvin and supun are great persons. Especially aminda is the best.he is smiling every time he knows our names.

Everything was perfect, the employees were very good especially Aminda ! If they can add some snacks in the rooms would be perfect. And the weather wasn’t that good was raining for a week . Kelvin,ashan,supun, are great as well.the leaders are also nice

We have stayed 5 days with my family and everything was perfect We had so much fun in this place The employees are really kind and helpful but I can say It is one of them called Amida he made our vacation better He deserves to be the menager of this place! The weather was not so good. Thank you!

Long journey but well worth it. Hotel staff very friendly and attentive. Very much a paradise island, relaxing and stunning views. Good choice of food. Entertainment there if required.

There is so much to say, it’s hard to know where to start! Firstly, this was single handedly the best holiday myself and my husband have EVER had in our 25 years together. Unfortunately we burnt so badly on our first day (use high factor suncream) snorkelling on our own, we couldn’t even walk on the second day. It was my birthday and we had snorkelling with the water sports team, and a romantic dinner on the beach booked. The hotel staff were all amazing, and took such good care of us. The reception were prompt and helpful in looking after us, and also checking up on us in the following days to make sure we were ok. The doctor and nurse came to our room, they were very knowledgable and able to provide medication needed to alleviate our pain, and reduce the risk of infection. The restaurant staff went out of their way to bring food to our room, ensuring we stayed well fed and hydrated. And our bookings were able to be moved to later in the week, so we didn’t miss out. I felt so safe, and well cared for whilst there. The following days we managed to shuffle about and enjoy the hotel and facilities and all that it had to offer. All staff are amazing, friendly and only to happy to help make your stay excellent! They truly are lovely lovely people, and nothing I could say or do could express just how much we appreciated them. Special shout out to Dilan, the young man who cleaned our room everyday. He was thorough, polite and we loved the art he did on the beds using flowers and palm leaves. Super talented!! The bar staff were amazing, worked really hard to make sure service was speedy and always with a smile. I enjoyed asking them to surprise me with a drink, and loved one in particular which I named bananarama! Safe to say, I was remembered as banana by the barman who created the drink ;) The staff in all of the restaurants were also very busy keeping everyone’s glasses topped up, tables clean and always with a great big smile. The manager would take the time to speak with us everyday :)) We ventured out with the water sports team on two occasions to go snorkelling and also to see the dolphins, which was epic! All staff very knowledgable and ensured they gave us the best opportunities they could. Bingo poolside in the afternoon was fun and interactive, and the staff member always made sure of that. Made even better by turning his hand to music for the sunset DJ session everyday :) Unfortunately we didn’t get out much in the evening to see the entertainment, but when we did go it was lovely. Some nights more party night, others more relaxed with acoustic music. It was nice to have variety. The resort was always clean, and well maintained. We can’t wait to go back, which we will. Read less
