My daughter and I traveled to Sandals Ochi from July 17-23, 2024 to attend the PADI Women's Dive event. I want to thank everyone involved with the PADI Women’s Dive event!!!! Dive Instructor Claudy was excellent as always. Jerlene was an amazing and passionate fount of knowledge about the efforts and success of the Sanctuary efforts and success in Jamaica and at Sandals in particular. JodyAnn was key in keeping the event organized and upbeat. Cruise Callen documented the event with amazing photographs, both above and underwater. The Dive and Management Team outdid themselves in creating a meaningful and fun event. I truly felt like the spirit of a Women’s Dive event was achieved and exceeded. I want to do this every year! Beyond the actual day of the event, we also want to thank Dive Instructor Kevaun for the amazing dives that he lead, including a private dive that he took us on, prior to the Women's Dive. He did this because I mentioned that I would hit my 100th dive this vacation and he wanted to help me acheive that goal on the Women's Dive. He went above and beyond to make that a special occasion. Captain Winston was superb, beyond piloting the dive boat, he and Dive Instructor Kevaun sent photos and video of my daughter with turtles, which made her vacation and solified her desire to dive again frequently. Beyond diving, the resort was amazing. We stayed in one of the Honeymoon Hideaway Luxury Club Level Garden Cottages. It was centrally located to restaurants, pools, the spa and an easy walking distance from the dive shop. The room had everything we needed, including much appreciated AC. When we were not diving, we enjoyed the quiet pool, drinks from the main pool, pizza and talking with other guests and employees. On the last day, we enjoyed spa services from Nordena and Taylor. We felt spoiled and well taken care of for our whole trip. Read less

The staff worked hours before, during and after the storm to make sure the guests were taken care of. From the management to the entertainment personnel, everyone was out cleaning up afterwards. Some staff had their own homes damaged, but they stayed to help out. We had to stay 4 extra nights due to flight rescheduling and they worked with everyone to help out with costs. I have stayed or visited all but 2 Sandals resorts and I think this was absolutely the best as far as staff. These people worked 48 hours straight to make all guests have an amazing time. We stayed in the Beach Tower and loved it. Food was good, service was amazing. Can't wait to go back. Read less

I took a group of 44 people to Sandals Ochi this July, 6 days after Hurricane Beryl ripped through the island. This review is written with that in mind, because there were some things like some downed trees and debris they were still cleaning up, lack of staffing due to people unable to get to work as power had not been restored at most of the residences of the employees, and some supply issues. We went knowing these could potentially be issues, but I will say that Sandals Ochi handled it beautifully, and it did not really impact our vacation enough to matter. This is an in-depth review, so you may want to settle in with your favorite bevvie. Starting from the top: The Sandals Lounge. This was kind of a chaotic experience, partially due to the fact that 38 people from our group arrived around the same time and took a private bus provided by Sandals for our group. The girl who was helping us with coordination and bags and was giving us the correct information, kept having whoever was the manager giving everyone conflicting information to people of our group, resulting in frustration on some parts. The lounge was also VERY busy, the whole airport was. They really could use another lounge to spread people out to, one that they could dedicate to Beaches in the summer when there are a lot of children traveling as well. Once we got on the bus, our driver team introduced themselves as Jay and Smiley. It was a great drive, with lots of information given out as well as some entertainment. We did stop along the way to use the restroom and some people grabbed drinks to go and a snack. Keep in mind, this drive can make some people a bit nauseous, so it is a good idea to bring something for motion sickness and nausea. We arrived at the resort at about 5 PM. The staff greeted us with a welcome song and dance, and we were escorted to one of their conference rooms that they had set up beautifully for our arrival with snacks, a bar, golf and spa reps, and staff to take care of us. They welcomed us very warmly, told our group a little about the resort, and then introduced everyone to their butlers. Everyone was then taken to their rooms. Most of us had dinner reservations already arranged by the resort (as we largely dined in groups of 8-12). We personally stayed in the Romeo & Juliet Suite, while the rest of our groups stayed in the newly renovated NV1 or G1 rooms. Our room review: We LOVED the private pool and hot tub. We did use them a LOT, and probably spent more time in our room than we normally do because it was the perfect haven to escape for a little bit for some privacy (it was very much a working vacation for me traveling with so many of my clients/friends etc). I definitely think they should consider putting cement steps in the pool vs the ladder they have. It might take up a little bit more space, but because it is currently a ladder, my MIL who was also in the R&J suites couldn't use it due to mobility issues. Note to Sandals when it comes time to remodel those rooms...add cement stairs so they are more accessible! The AC worked fantastically. The only weird thing about the room is it's split and has a courtyard between room/bathroom and living area. That part was cool....except the bedroom is right off the main door into the "compound" so where we would normally put things in our living room ended up going to our bedroom. We also missed a lot of our butler snacks and used the bar a lot less because it was a bit less convenient and we would forget it existed lol. But we truly loved the room and the privacy, I have been in every single room category at this resort and this is my top pick. Our personal butlers were Akeem and Nardia and they absolutely blew it out of the WORLD, not just the park. We got a floating lobster lunch one day in our pool, beautiful bed decor, hot bubble bath with candles and flowers after our all-day excursion that we didn't return from until 9 PM), dinner delivered to our friend's room pool since we decided to stay in and have a quieter night just 4 of us couples and it was SO HOT the pool was the only place to be comfortable, Akeem made sure we had a special dinner delivered. We never wanted for anything. Some others in our group had a butler team that was virtually non-existent (several attempts made to correct this, one butler did end up doing great about halfway through the trip, but the other one really was not the standard of service -again we know this could have been because of the hurricane and what was happening at home/ruined house or damage etc) and Akeem and Nardia took care of them as needed, too. Hands down I recommend requesting them for your butler team. #protips for your trip: Not ALL the food there is my favorite, but there are a lot of options...you just have to know what to order at each restaurant. You MUST try the braised oxtail and white chocolate ackee cheesecake from manor, the pork belly and fried tomato appetizer from Southern Table, risotto from Valentino's, escargot, the lamb and the chateaubriand from Le Gourmand, the jerk pork wings (like lollipops) and shrimp & vegetable rundown from Reef Terrace AND the seafood pizzas with spicy marinara from Dinos, and EVERYTHING FROM JERK SHACK, and you MUST have BOTH the sauces! Honorable food mentions for this trip were the Bread Pudding from Manor. Breakfast: Le Gourmand is my favorite. The ackee and saltfish is a great local dish, as well as their breakfast sandwich and the French toast. Be warned, it takes a while. For a quicker option that is a buffet, head to Southern Table if you are staying on the hillside (even though they generally serve the same things, I prefer this spot to Vista/Sky. Again, if you have a butler, you can order from any open restaurant for breakfast, or use the room service menu. ALSO, Soy is FAB, and even though my husband does not like sushi at all, he will eat like 8 plates of the shrimp Gyoza because he likes it so much. NORMALLY the chocolate chip cookies are great, but they were quite crunchy and HARD this time. If you have a butler, ask for a surf and turf dinner (lobster when in season, shrimp when not) dinner by candlelight on your patio dining table. To Sandals, Carnel and Sandra have got to be one of the BEST management teams you have. They worked so hard to coordinate everything, accommodated just about every request we had (like moving our group dinner from an outdoor location to an indoor location pretty last minute because of swelteringly hot it was...this is the hottest season on record for Jamaica, I believe, I have been there MANY times, including several times in July and I have never been as hot and miserable as I was this summer...the heat made the outdoor dining venues almost unbearable, which is a shame because it's hard to eat the food when you are that hot!!). Everyone was so impressed and had a wonderful time. While I could go back to Ochi over and over (and have), we booked our 2026 Annual #Friendcation for St Luca and Sandals Regency La Toc at L&T. Many of our group did a boat excursion that you can only book with watersports. Nev and his team took great care of the group and everyone had so much fun, even those that had done it during previous stays. They even mixed it up a little so it wasn't an exact repeat experience! The playmakers who ran our group game event were Aculia, Oshane, Patrice and Garth. They made it so fun and were so hilarious! Many of our group played volleyball daily with Patrice and Garth, and they were definitely our groups' favorite playmakers of the trip! Room service was overall timely and hot. Other Accolades: - Akeem at Southern table. Since we ate there almost daily, he would look for us and take over our table if someone else was initially helping us. Wonderful guy with a great smile and customer service! - Demar at Kimonos. He made our first meal of the night an amazing one! He was so funny, personable and our meal was excellent. - Kasenia & Lateva at Manor....AMAZING! Initially they didn't realize we had a group reservation made by Carnel, but they sorted it quickly, moved tables (and under fans, which helped). They even got my husband a Cheeseburger and caesar salad since he's a picky eater, even though it's not on the menu. They arranged for a birthday song and surprise for someone in our group but seated at another table, and we got to participate in it as well. - Shoyan. I cannot say enough amazing things about her. She took care of all our group at Loyalty & Travel, and impressed my in-laws by going above and beyond to help them (and they are very hard to impress). A true asset to the Sandals team, with the most beautiful smile and spirit. The cons (because, let's be real): We had quite a few issues with the night front desk staff, and getting transportation up to our rooms in the evenings. There were virtually NO jitneys running the entire time we were there, which is pretty abnormal, and not the fault of the resort, but the individuals doing the job...many people were frustrated with this, not just our group. Some things were not available, like sprite and gingerale, the last few days of our trip. Again, hurricane related but something to note. Tapas service was ridiculously slow and my husband ordered buffalo wings and they sent him wings tossed in KETCHUP. Island time we get, but ketchup instead of buffalo wings and missing orders?
