The hotel

Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort is an adults-only, all-suite hotel, just 10 minutes north of Cancun. Where is it

On a lovely white sand beach in the resort of Playa Mujeres. Just a 10-minute drive north from Downtown Cancun in an exclusive gated community, located inside a championship 18-hole Playa Mujeres Golf Course, designed by golf legend Greg Norman. Transfer time from airport: 35 minutes.

Karen was always very nice and checked on us often. Always brought drinks and food in a timely manner. Excellent customer service and is friendly with everyone. Food is so good and the service is even better! If you’re a pool person, Karen will take care of you ten times over! She remembered our drink orders and took care of us all week. Can’t recommend Karen enough! Resort is a little dated but the service and food makes up for it

We arrived late due to flight delays world wide system outages. My stay was Friday to Monday. When I arrived I was being hard sold on visiting another secrets location.This took up about 15 additional minutes of my time even though it was well after 5pm and raining. All I wanted was a shower and food. I arrived at El patio (I believe that's the name) to be told I was out of dress code with a tank top on as I am staring at a patron with a tank top and baseball hat dining comfortably. It felt more like I was unwelcomed than out of dress code. I then went to Maris with no issue. the food was good very small portions. I had the scallops and risotto. It was enjoyable but unfulfilling. I ordered the chicken skewer and mash potatoes. The chicken was extremely tough and dry. I tried the buffet (world Cafe) at Dreams that same night the food was not edible. The plantain and salmon were dry. That was my dining experience for the rest of my trip. The drinks were very bad even a margarita. None of the juice tasted like actual juice more like syrup and artificial sweetner. The best food and drink I had was on my final night at Himitsu. That was the only place I ate at the resort that was delightful. A majority of the staff was pleasant. I would not recommend Secrets or Dreams. The price and reputation did not meet my expectations. I've had much better experiences at the Valentin Imperial and the Riu franchises. The rooms were very clean. The best part of the buffet was the guacamole. I was glad my neighbor purchased alcohol at the airport because every drink I got on the resort was not good with the exception of Himitsu. Read less
