Just arrived back home from a 5 day stay at Verandah resort. Arrived late in the evening due to our flight being stalled in Miami. There was security in the front monitoring who came in and out, so that was nice. To leave it simple, the resort is beautiful, we understand that it was down season so we enjoyed what was available. My favorite was seabreeze buffet and the coffee shop. Dinner at sales n tales was decent. Beach front grill left a bad taste in my mouth after flock of birds landed in the open salad bar and pecked away at the salad left uncovered, after mentioning it, they continued to serve it anyway and chuckled about it. We arrived on a Wednesday night, Friday night we caught a taxi into the city and went out to a nightclub. Before leaving, we inquired about how we would get back up to our room since it would be after the buggies stopped running (11pm), we were told security would take us. We had a water view room so our room was quite a distance from the main lobby. Upon returning back (2:30am) we were told by a middle aged, heavier set woman, that we would have to walk back to our suite because “there was no one on duty who could drive the buggy.” (Gulf cart). This was upsetting because like I said, our room was a ways from the main lobby. Two other couples then arrived back from the same night club, in a separate taxi. The clerk was very argumentative, very sarcastic, she said to walk, sat back into her comfy chair and hummed to the music she had playing , while folding papers. I asked for security to be called to the desk, snd which she did. His name was Mr. West. He tried very hard to get us all a ride back up to our rooms but was not successful. By this time it was 3am. We walked back to our suites with security walking with us, sweltering heat, pitch black dark, steep road. I was so disappointed with the lack of help that the clerk offered, she then told us to “write your complaints on a sheet of paper and give it to guest services.” I wouldn’t return to this resort. It’s for older adults who wants quietness day and night, everything shut down around 8pm, the pools. The lack bar is open until 1am but buggies stopped running at 11pm. Makes no sense. The entertainment was very underwhelming. During our 5 day stay, there was entertainment 1 tine during the day, beautiful resort, grounds kept well but resort is not for adults who still wants a good time. It was very slow. Housekeeping was every other day but they did a great job. Read less

Just came back from a week at The Verandah Resort and would highly recommend it. Upon arrival we were impressed with the welcome we received. Shawn, the porter gave us a little tour of the resort before he brought us to our rooms, even though we arrived at 9:00 pm. All the rooms have recently been renovated and are very clean, spacious and well-maintained. There was a wide variety of food choices in the restaurants. The breakfast buffet had a variety of options. The coffee shop had great coffee and pastries. The bbq night was outstanding - the steak and shrimp were delicious. Papa Rico’s had stone oven pizza which was amazing. Lover’s Beach located in the cove was quiet and picturesque. The water sports employee, YOUNG is personable and accommodating. We took advantage of the gym. In addition, there were other activities including, pickleball, mini golf, tennis etc. I would like to thank Sir Robert Barrett, the owner of the resort. It is rare to meet the owner but I had the pleasure to meet him and converse with him on a few occasions. I also got to meet Miguel, the general manager. He was a class act as was Gleniq. Shout out to Nicole and Theodore who were excellent servers. Thank you for making our vacation so pleasurable. Stef G Read less

My husband and I visited the Verandah for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved our stay. On arrival we were greeted with a rum punch-the rum punch is so good! Our room was modern, clean, had a very comfy bed, stocked with water and we had the most beautiful view of the ocean. There are multiple restaurants to chose from, and on different nights there may be a bbq at the pool or a steak night at the pizza place, so there is always something to chose from. We loved our visit to Nicole’s (fine dining experience) but there is an additional fee of $40 per person. We didn’t love Portofinos (the Italian), we are big into Italian food and it wasn’t for us. We visited sails and tails and the beach grill regularly for lunch which both had a good choice of food, my favourite I’d say was the beach grill. Their chicken wings and jerk chicken burrito were yummy but the food at sails and tails was also very good. We also went to Sails and Tails for dinner one night and the food was good, my husband loved the pork dish and I had the veggie Thai dish which had a great flavour. We also had pizza twice which we loved. There is also a great coffee shop-the coffees are great and the wavy wicket pub is which serves bar snacks and great drinks. Breakfast was a buffet which had SO MANY options, there were sweet treats (pancakes/waffles etc), fruits, granola, cereal, sausages, bacon etc and an omelet station. The best part about breakfast was being greeted by Asher every morning with a smile, she also served us at sails and tails and was always so welcoming. We also cannot forget Theodore- he embodies ‘service with a smile’ and it was lovely getting to know him more too. There were activities everyday that you could choose to take part in or not. There was also evening entertainment too which ranged from bands/djs/game nights etc. These were ran by Rohan and Sameita, meeting you both was such a highlight of our stay! You are both truly a credit to The Verandah. There are excursions you can do at an extra charge that the hotel organises for you. We highly recommend Stingray City and the Calypso cat! Also grab a day pass to Pineapple Beach to eat at the outback grill on the top of the hill. On the site there is mini golf, table tennis, pool, tennis courts, a gym and pickle ball courts. You can also do water sports down at the beach. You have the choice of 2 beaches and a few pools (we stuck to the main pool as it was by our room). The site has a few hills so it can be a walk but there are staff that pick you up and drive you to your next destination in a buggy. Shout out to Ronaldo who always stopped to ask us if we needed a lift. Overall we really did love our stay, thank you so much to the staff at the Verandah! Read less

We stayed a week had the most amazing time. The service was top notch. Andre, Lassandra, and Aidaina are some of the names I remember, but honestly everyone from check-in, room service, guest services, porter, bartenders, and waitresses/waiters were kind and friendly. We have kids and love them very much, but not on our anniversary trip! The resort was immaculately kept from the grounds to the facilities. All the staff was very helpful and friendly! In particular we had a waiter/bar tender named Theodore who was engaging, friendly and even made us his own speciality drink that was awesome! The general manager, Miguel, was also very helpful and paid special attention to us. Specifically when my wife was feel a little ill, he opened the gift shop after hours to get her the medicine she needed! I can't say enough great things about our trip! Highly recommend! Enjoy!!!
