The hotel

A Hawaiian haven on Kauai's North Shore, this beautiful hotel is all about wellness, relaxation, and sustainability. With stunning views over Hanalei Bay, this really is an oceanfront sanctuary where you can enjoy as much or as little activity as you like. The beach is right on your doorstep, be it for a relaxing swim or a spot of paddle boarding and kayaking,and the cute town of Hanalei isn't far away to explore. But the highlight of this hotel (in our opinion) is the spa. With natural and organic products, and individualised treatments, you'll be feeling the effects long after your treatment has finished. The adults-only infinity pool is another highlight, with ocean views and a poolside bar, so you can enjoy some peace and quiet with a cocktail in hand. There's two other pools though, with a shallow one that's particularly suitable for the little ones, whilst Seedlings Kids club is a fun, educational space where the little ones can enjoy a host of activities inspiring imagination and discovery. And we haven't even touched on the food. There's a wide range of bars and reataurants that focus on locally sourced food - we're pretty sure you'll never go hungry here. All in all, this hotel is perfect for active families, solo travellers, and newlyweds alike.

Great accommodations, amazing views, and beach with snorkeling right off the property. Special shoutout to the Sandbox bar team (Eric, Branden, and Devon). They embody the spirit of Aloha and hospitality. (Only critique is the concierge we were texting with wasn’t as helpful as we would have hoped.)

I have been to countless Four Seasons and similar boutiques but this is THE BEST best hotel we have ever been to and made this the best honeymoon anyone can ever ask for The staff is there to DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO ENSURE YOU HAVE AN AMAZING STAY. I booked this for my honeymoon after staying at the disastrous and outdated Sonesta that is in Lihue. And the 1hotel has been like heaven on earth. The staff, the room, the view (best part), the ambiance, all of it has been impeccable. We started off by being warmly greeted by delightful staff who gave us nice drinks. When they heard we were on our honeymoon they gave us a complimentary goody and a rom upgrade. The room was amazing, you can see the gorgeous sea and amazing mountain island views. The breakfast and dinner were both extremely impeccable. The taste of the dinners we had at Welina terrace lounge were amazing, the hostess also gave us a pretty amazing sunset view table to make it extra romantic. I cannot thank the staff enough. And the details, they’re so attentive to the details! They left a handwritten note congratulating us on our wedding, complimentary drinks, and small things like having attentive staff take away your empty cups or offer to put your bags away… we even forgot something in the free Audi rental and the stuff magically appeared in our room. What amazing detail oriented staff. … and don’t get me started on how amazing these amenities are…. Just Google pictures of the hotel and you will see. This has been the most memorable and amazing stay and I would go to the ends of the world to tell everyone about it. Read less

This place is phenomenal! 2bedroom suite was gigantic with breathtaking mountain and water views! Staff was very friendly, pool was great, and beds were comfortable…even the Murphy bed! Might be a bit more difficult to enjoy if you have mobility issues. It’s hilly and there’s a paved path down to the beach. Their solution though is to call them… Read more

The hotel is great. Loved the Kitchen restaurant and staff. Huge shout out to Jared, who helped with food, despite island wide power cuts. Concierge and staff are very friendly. I had the best experience at the Bamford Wellness Spa, with masseuse Machiko...a loud shout out to her. She is the best!
