We stayed on the hammock beach end of the resort which was fortunately a little quieter for the most part but things could get loud early in the morning with kids playing out on the front lawn. It’s definitely a wonderful place to bring kids and I was very impressed with all of the family/kid friendly activities but it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for with a couples getaway trip. Wanted a quick trip south for our 21st wedding anniversary and really wanted to stay in North Keys area. We love Cheeca Lodge and saw great things about Bakers Cay and Playa Largo. I decided on Bakers Cay for our weekend trip and this will be our last time here. I will say being a loyal Hilton Honors member and for the price of this resort, the expectations are higher. We arrived Friday evening to a small line to check in. I asked if there were any upgrades but the resort was full. No problemo. The Hammock room we were assigned was nothing special. Just as basic as a Holiday or Days Inn room. The balcony is nice however there are trees that block everything. You have no view whatsoever. Being late, we decided to watch TV and the Live TV did not work. We called the front desk and waited, and waited, and waited. We then left to grab a bite to eat with the hopes of coming back to a fixed TV. No luck. So Netflix is was for us the rest of the night. In regards to sleep, please know the beds are FIRM. For us, we prefer a softer bed for our bodies. We both woke up with back pain and it was a real uncomfortable sleep, both nights. Next morning was our anniversary! We had brought a bottle of champagne to celebrate. We called the desk again to bring us 2 champagne glasses.. We waited, waited, and waited until we just decided to go down to the restaurant Calusa (real good food BTW) where we were given 2 glasses. We decided to leave the resort for lunch and spend some time in the city. Upon returning, there were no parking spots at the resort. We were asked to park in an illegal spot by a hotel worker in which we needed to park partially on the grass and on the concrete so we wouldn't be rear ended with cars going around a corner. We decided to stay in and order room service for our anniversary dinner. We ended up with a 12" Pepperoni Pizza and we ordered Key Lime Pie that was the size of a standard coaster. After fees, it was $53. So for Hilton members, they make you feel warm and fuzzy with a $36 food credit per day, but the upcharging for food is the highest I have ever seen. Please be aware of this. The resort itself is very nice. This is the only reason for the 2 star review. The beach area looked really fun and it is spaced out well. However, there really isn't that much of a difference than any other high end resort in the Keys. Being a special day, this resort did not make us feel special. In fact, it was the opposite. We have been to many Hilton resorts that left us a note, a bottle of champagne, or offered a room credit for our special occasion. Not even a "happy anniversary" as it was mentioned on the reservation. You come to expect more when you make a larger investment for a weekend stay. That was not the case here. Everyone has a bad day and possibly a poor weekend. However, as we generally visit the Keys 3-4 times per year living in South Florida, we will give other resorts and shot or stay at a resort we know will appreciate our investment. Read less

Wonderful place, nice staff at the front desk and in the restaurants but lazy house keeping - needed to ask 3 times for preparing the sofa bed and it worked out at 9pm only, next day the room was as not made until 5pm - not the service you would expect from a Hilton Curio hotel - anyhow beach compensated for the shortfalls
