Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club

Miami Beach, Miami

Virgin rating

The hotel

There’s a certain seaside feel at the revamped Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club – and it doesn’t just come from its location, virtually anchored to the sands and boardwalk of Miami Beach. Its guestrooms are decked out in cool whites, greys, and navy blues for a refreshing coastal feel; while the finishing touches have a hint of the Art Deco heritage this ocean-skirting oasis is famous for. The latest hotel to make it into Marriott’s Autograph Collection, when you return hungry from the beach, or a dip in its two pools, or shopping in the nearby Design District, the Cadillac’s new restaurant welcomes you back with crispy rustic pizzas straight from its wood-fired oven, while the mixologist at its oceanfront bar shakes you their signature cocktails.

The table in the living area was warped with water stains, hair and chipped. The pipe under the toilet seat was rotted, and green. The refrigerator was outdated and worn. They gave us robes and no slippers? The ice machine was also out of order on the 11th floor. Additionally, no ramp was available to pull luggage. Had to pick luggage up on… Read more

I had a terrible stay at this hotel. The room was damp and stuffy, and to make matters worse, it was crawling with ants—even on the pillows! It was extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic. This experience was truly disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay. Read less

Our front desk check in was smooth and memorable when Mr. Miguel Angel checked us in and helped me clear up a mistake I made by double booking our room. Our dining experiences was all GREAT. Donna Mare was great and our late night -Cesar Salad was perfect. Pool side cantina, Bruno stopped by to check in on us after our lunch and that was kind of him. Everyone shared their two cents when asked about suggestions. Our very nice conceive (name?) helped set us up for a bike rental and that was a fun experience. The pools both great and the access to ocean and board walk as easy as it gets. Location is perfect. This is not one of the newest poshest MB hotels but it’s perfect in many ways and we will be back. Some very good bits, some less so. Stayed with my teenage son for five nights. The good Hotel location, public areas, pool and restaurants and bar offering were really nice. Staff around pool especially helpful with accommodating towels and loungers. Beach loungers nice touch with towel service there too. Beach is great. The bad You know how annoying it is when you get to your room after a long journey to find your key and doesn’t work? Try doing that FIVE TIMES. When we checked in after a 14 hour journey I had to come back down as door didn’t work and wasn’t operating. Finally they sent an engineer. Holy moly food and drink is expensive. Constant sound of angle grinding from property next door set my teeth on edge. One morning woken at 7am to same property fire alarm going off. The ugly We had been ‘upgraded’ to a pool view room (with ocean ‘glimpses’ - the one with non working door). It was an accessible room which meant that my 6’7 son and I at over six foot had to try and manage everything at waist height designed for someone in a chair. No storage or hanging space in bathroom. Bedroom furniture didn’t work, drawers stuck. Paid another fee to be upgraded to a room proportioned for our use. Housekeeping is bizarre. Different times of day, different standards of servicing. We had one of the gowns taken away after first night and then had no floor mat for the last three nights. Varying number of towels every day. For the second time in a month staying at a Marriott I had something go missing from my room - although perhaps inadvertent. Reception staff could really do with being more client oriented - they had an affectation of benign indifference. I’d return if they could sort out the bad and ugly bits. Read less
