We chose the Calabash Hotel for our 20th Anniversary, and we are so glad we did! From the moment we arrived, we had exceptional service, being met enthusiastically by staff and a member of the Garbutt family. From there we were led to our amazing suite where they had decorated the whole thing for our anniversary! Beautiful decorations, a bottle of wine AND champagne, and delicious rum punch. Every detail top to bottom has been thought of at this hotel. From the little things like adapters and a ladder on the balcony to dry wet clothes to the larger things like personalized service at every turn, and the friendliest of staff, that are more like family. We have been to many resorts in the Caribbean, and this has taken the gold. The food is UNREAL. Breakfast on our patio (lobster Benedict!), lunch at the Beach Club (pizzas from gorgeous pizza oven!) and dinner at either Nori (get the Kiss of Fire roll) or Rhodes (where do I begin…everything was amazing). They also have nights at the beach club with live music. The food is really next level- the executive chef Nick has really nailed the balance between being local, inventive and having exceptional taste and quality. The house wines are lovely and delicious and the array of cocktails cannot be beat. The resort itself is quiet and peaceful. It’s not a place to go if you are looking for a night life. It’s where you go to recharge and reconnect. We were treated so graciously by everyone who worked at the Calabash. Concierge Stevens, ready and available to listen any time, George and Dennis at the bar giving impeccable service, always with a fist bump and a smile. Head maître d’ Michael and the restaurant staff were wonderful including Miguel, Sherlyn, Abigail, Morissa, Kendrick, Rhonda - honestly the entire crew were spectacular. The housekeeping staff were next level. Rooms were beautifully made a few times a day, and the mini bar always stocked by Gabriel with a big smile. We never had to ask for a thing! The grounds were so beautifully kept. The beach is beautifully set in a harbor. Lots to do from paddle boarding, kayaks, snorkeling at the West Indies Scuba hut right on the beach who run great tours and have a resident cat Mai Tai to make you happy. Jay led us on our snorkeling excursion to Glover Bay- only a 5 minute boat ride away, but it gave us a chance to see the island and its beauty by boat. Vaughn and Calvin at the beach never let us make our own chair beds, or go without a cold water or frosty beverage. For our island tour Ryan Bartholomew led us to the rainforest reserve where we interacted with the Mona monkeys on the island. A beautiful spot for hiking and seeing the island from above. Beautiful lake in the center formed in the crater of a volcano that erupted ages ago. We also went into the town of St George and hit the House of Chocolate, worth a visit. Lastly a spa visit is a definite to do while at the Calabash. Danielle and Hannah led us to spa bliss and the facility itself is simple and peaceful. All in all, one of the best vacations of our life. A top notch experience from start to finish. PS- being so close to the airport means plans fly overhead several times a day. It did not bother us, but worth noting! Read less

As someone who loves good food, I have to say the dining experience was fantastic. Every meal was delicious and full of flavor, and the cocktails were just as amazing—perfect for sipping while watching the sunset. The spa was another highlight. The treatments were professional and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I left feeling completely rejuvenated. Calabash Grenada is a true slice of paradise, combining luxury, relaxation, and world-class service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Once again, a lovely holiday at this great hotel, but a couple of minor grumbles.

This was our fourth stay at this wonderful well-run family hotel with brilliant staff. We did however have one minor issue with someone trying to get into our room at 4 am. My wife was awake and clearly heard the door handle click. She shouted who is there. I got up and looked around but could not see anyone . Mentioning this the following day we were told that it was someone from security. It was very unnerving and we asked to be moved at our expense to a room we felt was safer. We had not had this issue before and were a little surprised in the way it was dealt with. It did not seem to be taken seriously . Our other minor grumble is that the owners are very visible eating in one of the restaurant most days. The previous year we had been very warmly greeted on our arrival by them and also they took the trouble to say goodbye to us when we left. We even discovered we had mutual friends in Norwich . This year we were not spoken to and just felt it rather strange after a 10 day stay. Not sure why? On a more positive note, the staff are brilliant and the food is exceptional, though the wine list could perhaps be better? Would we go back again? Yes we would! Read less

We have recently returned from a week at Calabash and wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel is amazing, the room is spacious and modern with great AC and the mini bar was very generous with white and red wine as well as soft options. The bottle of rum punch was also a lovely addition! The bathroom has great amenities and the shower was probably one of the best we’ve had in a hotel. The food is outstanding. We had breakfast in our room on the balcony as well as heading to the beach club and we managed to try most of the dishes on the menu, there wasn’t a bad dish! The tapas option at lunch was also really appealing as you could try a few different things. We had dinner at both restaurants and the Asian tapas was delicious. It was very quiet so not much atmosphere but the food was the highest quality. Rhodes restaurant and the speciality nights at beach club had lots of choice, the only disappointment was that there was no lobster on offer on any of the nights. Unfortunately we had some illness while we were there (nothing to do with the hotel) and Regan was so helpful in organising the doctor and checking in on us. She was so kind and helpful. The staff at calabash really make the hotel what it is. Everyone was so kind and made a really effort to learn our name and chat to us each day. A few people really stood out. Gabriel is the kindest man and we had such lovely chats with him, he’s been at the hotel so long and has amazing stories. George makes the best cocktails and is great fun in the evenings around the bar. Abigail is also such a ball of energy and has such a joyous personality you can’t help but smile every time you chat to her. Due to the illness we weren’t able to enjoy our time as much as we would have liked to but we will definitely be back to enjoy everything that Calabash has to offer. Read less
