What a magnificent property. Our family (4 adults 2 small children) chose a beachfront villa. It far exceeded our expectations. No criticisms

Beautifully renovated property, excellent food, perfect beach, and old school-top notch customer service! Pros Bellmen: helpful but not pushy or greasy. Front desk: professional, kind, friendly. Everyone went above and beyond to be authentic, genuine & kind. House keeping: warm smiles, friendly, deep clean & refresh everyday. (This seems to be a luxury anymore). Property: light, modern, newly remodeled. Amenities: reusable water bottles, ice cold refilling stations, nespresso coffee in room, turn down services upon request, great poolside or in-room food service (although pricey). Pool/hot tub/beach: good enough, but the beach is the gem here. Perfect cove, my kids swam with turtles & loved body surfing the waves. Beach chairs readily available with umbrellas & towels. Cons Expect to pay Maui prices on drinks, food & snacks. Poor customer service by a gruff woman running the market. Not kind or helpful. Limited allergen friendly food for poolside dining, and especially at the market. Read less

Amazing! My family and I just completed a week long stay at this beautiful hotel. I can not say enough about the fantastic customer service and friendly environment. I strongly suggest you check the Hale Kukuna room, hopefully you will meet Jobi and Leko They will teach you about the history and culture of Maui, they both have a very strong passion for the land, people, culture and the Fairmont. My 9 year old daughter and I took the Lei making, Hawaiian language, Ukulele lessons but most of all we learned about the people and history by looking at all the exhibits and books in the Hale Kukuna. The restaurants are amazing we had fantastic meals. i also went on the outrigger canoe which I strongly recommend. I was very impressed with the whole experience and met with the hotel manager Tom and the regional manager Michael to let them know how wonderful their hotel is. they are both very friendly and I can see where the staff get their customer service values from. we are already planning our next vacation back to this hotel. Mahalo to everyone at the Fairmont Kea lani. Read less

Our family had an amazing stay (mom, dad and 3 kids - 9yrs and 7yrs). The property is spectacular - it's beautifully landscaped, well taken care of, and feels very safe. The amenities are plentiful and accommodate both kids and adults. There are "tranquility areas" including a pool and a portion of the lawn that are only available to adults. There are 2 other pools for the families, which are joined by a really fun water slide. The pools are clean and really beautiful, with a cool bridge over one of them and a separate little kiddie pool. There are 2 hot tubs, one of which is nestled in the "jungle". There is a beautiful koi pond, water features and the lobby is quite breathtaking with water features and jungle vegetation. The entire hotel is open air, so unless you are in your room or a conference room, you feel like you're outside and can feel the ocean breeze. Our room was so beautiful and the staff kept it very clean and sand-free. :) Every member of the staff that we encountered was friendly and helpful, and expedited our requests with grace. This was our second stay here, and given the chance we definitely will again. 10/10 Read less

We booked this hotel for my boyfriends birthday because I kept hearing that it was better than the Four Seasons (which we’ll also visit during this trip) and I wanted to compare the two hotels for future reference. I must say though, that my initial impression of Fairmont has been “meh”. While the hotel IS lovely (it has an open air lobby & you see the beach from the moment you enter), checking in to our room left much to be desired. We arrived early at 12:15 and there were no rooms available. This was no big deal though, we just enjoyed walking around & explored the grounds a bit. After waiting over an hour, we received a text that our suite was ready… Now the real fun could begin, right? Wrong. We got into the suite and were greeted by a juicy roach. Now, I DO NOT roach, but I said “you know what? It’s not uncommon on the island… I’ll let it slide. That was until we walked in to the bedroom area to see to find a dead mosquito/gnat/bug at the base of the pillow. I got ready to remove that and my boyfriend pointed out another roach on the wall. At this point, I’m like “nope”. So, I dispose of the bug, and go into the bathroom to was my hands and see there are hairs in the sink and the bathtub is dirty. Of note, there were also a bunch of hairs and stains in the bed. I immediately returned to the front desk to request a different room. I mean, for the thousands of dollars we spent to book this resort, I expected more. I will say though that Tara, who checked us in, was apologetic and offered to switch our room. We opted to do so, but the wait time was probably another hour or more. My initial impression of this place leaves much to be desired. I hope we don’t regret making this a part of this birthday trip. I guess the next few days will tell. Read less
