Parts of the hotel, including the rooms, could use a refresh for the rates they charge. Grounds/landscaping were BEAUTIFUL throughout and the pools and outdoor areas were my favorite part of this resort. Tidepools was super disappointing - do yourself a favor and go to Beach House instead if you are looking for a nice dinner!

Once again, an outstanding stay. This place is pure magic, service is simply unbeatable. Book a stay here, and you will not regret it. Grand Club staff always exceed expectations. They welcomed us back like old friends, worked hard to keep the dining areas spotless, sanitary and replenished, cheerfully handled special dietary requests, and provided the highest level of hospitality. This incredible staff continues to provide the best club experience in the world... mahalo to Amy, Ana, Renee, Alexis, Justin, Cindi, Samantha, Kieran, Victoria, Erika, and the other new staff members too! Also sending a big mahalo to Celeste and Christine for making us feel like welcome guests each time, and for the beautiful suite accommodations (Globalist SUA used) and amenities. We have known the Wildlife Team for over 10 years, and we are always very happy to see them. They do a phenomenal job caring for all the wildlife. It is heartwarming to see how bonded the birds are to them... please keep this fabulous team (Kolo, Mackenzie and Jen) happy in their jobs, because the wildlife need them! It warms our hearts to see how well cared for the wildlife at Grand Hyatt Kauai are. This says a lot about the management at this resort. Anara Spa staff were also friendly, helpful and professional, as always. They kept each area spotless and created a beautiful ambiance for relaxation and serenity. All staff at Seaview Terrace, Stevensons, and Tidepools were also exceptional. We were given the best tables with wonderful views, and food and service were fantastic. A special shout out to Les at Tidepools, and our servers at Stevensons, who took good care of us and extended much appreciated Kamaaina discounts. Kudos to all staff and management at Grand Hyatt Kauai who set this resort above all the others. There is no place as beautiful and as welcoming. The aloha spirit can be felt throughout. A hui hou! My husband and I celebrated our 24th anniversary in Hawaii and we started the 2 week trip at The Grand Hyatt. From the moment we stepped in, we were so happy this was our choice for Kauai. This is a STUNNING property. The hotel grounds are beautiful……the pools, the landscape, it’s all near perfect. Our room was very clean and was exactly what I was hoping for. I am kind of surprised to read any complaints about old carpet in the hotel, or any complaints at all for that matter. This hotel is truly a gem. The staff here was incredible. Oh my gosh SO nice….from the greeting when we pulled up until our sad day when we had to leave. Every staff member we encountered here clearly was happy to be a part of making our trip amazing. Aloha is in the air here. We hope to return to Kauai and will not even begin to look anywhere else, and I encourage whoever reads this review to stay here ! You will not regret it ! Read less

The resort is massive, gorgeous and lush. We loved that we can use the pool, gym, lazy river and hot tubs 24/7. We had no problem getting beach chairs and pool towels. We enjoyed the koi feeding at Tidepools in the morning. The salt water lagoon is fantastic and a great alternative to the beach. Valet was great in getting our car ready for us out front (call them with your ticket # before leaving your room). The purified water stations scattered in the property are a great idea! The swan view at Ilima is sooo relaxing. The luau on Wednesdays and Saturdays are viewable from the seats outside of the function rooms. Stand out service that we want to acknowledge: bartender George at Stevenson’s, Richard at Dondero’s bfast and Fernan at Ilima Terrace - these guys are so friendly & helpful! We were disappointed with the taste and quality of the food overall specifically at Dondero’s lounge like a) their very dry and tasteless loco moco, b) rubbery meat skewers that were undercooked it stuck together, c) onion soup at Ilima’s that was like stale broth, d) so-so $22 Kalua pork quesadilla, e) sushi pizza at Stevenson’s that was semi-hard cardboard, among others. The slow service in the main dining room of Stevenson’s was disappointing as well, we should have remained in the bar. We were prepared to pay Hawaii (inflated) prices for food so it’s rather disappointing to have mediocre grub. Glad we had a rental car to check out the food scene in Poipu and Lihue. A bit of a drive but Kapaa and Hanalei have better dining options. Also: The spa isn’t accessible to Globalists anymore unless you have an appointment for a paid service. The resort is aesthetically beautiful but this Hyatt needs to up their food quality & taste to match the top dollar they charge. I’m on IG for more travel/food: @i_therefore_conclude Read less

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The week prior to visiting Kauai, we were staying in Maui and we had multiple people tell us that the Hyatt was dated and not as good as our Maui hotel. Boy were we pleasantly surprised when we showed up. The hotel is amazing. The room was fantastic. The restaurants are pricey (especially Stevenson's) but pretty good. Our only gripe with the hotel is that there isn't an "adults only" hot tub and that children ran wild doing cannon balls and playing in all of the hot tubs even though there is a "no unsupervised children" rule. I would have appreciated that being enforced. If you are visiting Kauai and want to be on the south shore (which I highly recommend), you have to stay here. Read less
