Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort

Daytona Beach, Gold Coast Beaches

Virgin rating

The hotel

The only thing between this hotel and Daytona Beach is its fabulous shore-side pool deck. Looking out over the ocean, it stretches down to a handful of steps that lead you directly onto Florida’s most famous sands. It’s a view that’s also captured while you’re dining on seafood specialities at Doc Bale’s Grill, tucking into street food inspired dishes at The Blind Turtle, and enjoying at tipple or two at McCoys Rum Room and Waves Beach Bar. But it’s not all sun, sea, and sand at Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort — you'll also love the gym, spa, and prime location among the shops and entertainment of Ocean Walk Village.

Brilliant hotel. Top level customer service and accommodations. In addition, it’s a highly populated area and I love limiting access to guest elevators to guests. I am on business travel and came down the front desk to get some help and Stacy (StaTona!), Cyndy and Franky could not have been kinder and willing to go above and beyond. So those of you who are up early go say hi to them. These types of employees are one of kind in today’s market where customer service isn’t always a premium. Hyde Park for steak and fish is legit one of the best restaurants I have been to and service is remarkable. Cheers to Hilton and these fabulous employees. Read less

You can tell this is an older hotel. Don’t get me wrong, the view is beautiful. But the hotel itself needs some maintenance. The doors on the north tower lobby were broken, there were no overhead lights in the room, and I had to crawl under the table to find an outlet for my laptop to charge. I very much dislike that you have to self-park in a lot with a broken gate. We paid via the honor system ($30 a night) and never had to check in or out of the lot. If the lot is broken, it should be gratis. It’s ridiculous to still pay. I was unable to drop my bags off without using the valet. We pulled up and asked, but the guy said we’d have to give him our keys if we dropped our luggage at the door. Not wanting to spend $40 a night for that and then have to wait each time for them to get the car, we opted to self-park and drag the suitcases ourselves. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Should it really be associated with the Hilton Brand?

I booked this hotel trusting the brand name and I must say I was surprised that they carry the name brand of Hilton. I booked an ocean view room and when we arrived the sliding door was jammed and not able to be opened. The furniture was so dated and dirty it was scary to even set my items on the furniture. The bathroom had lighting that was full of rust, the wall paper in the bathroom was peeling and lastly the shower faucet was almost falling apart. The water temperature was so hard to control and I practically scolded myself with the hot water while taking a shower. At night all you could hear was loud music and the smell of an ilegal substance while trying to sleep in the super uncomfortable mattress. The hotel I’m sure at some point was nice but I was so disappointed with the poor appearance and upkeep it displayed. I would say it’s been at least 15 years since the last refurbishment. We ended up paying for parking across the street which was $30 a night, a complete joke as it was off site, if you are going to charge for self-parking at least make it reasonable, that parking lot was not worth $30 a night. Overall I rate this experience poor and feel the Hilton brand should be embarrassed to have this category of hotel because it truly discredits their trusted and known brand. Needless to say I will not be returning, save yourself the bad experience and book yourself another hotel if you are heading to Daytona Beach. Please note my comments are not related to the hurricane damage that is displayed as that had just happened and understandable that was being fixed, my comments are for the poor upkeep it’s maintained over the years, the property is just poorly maintained and just not worth the bad experience. Ashleigh & Kalea the Host and Josh our server @ Don Rico’s were awesome. We had dinner one night and lunch the next and had great experiences both times! We have very much enjoyed our stay and if we are in Daytona again we will definitely return!
