We were stuck in Montego Bay during Hurricane Beryl, and the way this resort handled the hurricane was seamless. They created shelters within the resort that had plenty of food, water and entertainment. The staff did a beautiful job making sure everyone remained calm before, during and after the hurricane. We did not lose power at all. We needed to extend our stay three nights because our flight was cancelled and they were easily able to accommodate us. While the hotel did sustain some damage from the storm, they were able to get the pool and beach up and running by lunch time the day after. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. As for the stay, generally, the staff was great and the facilities and rooms were awesome. The food in the buffet was ok, however, there are plenty or restaurants on the property that were much better. The food truck on the beach had some really good beef patties. I would definitely recommend this resort, especially if you are going doing hurricane season! Praying the rest of Jamaica recovers from that devastating storm! Read less

We got there just in time for a 13 hour evacuation inside the resort. The staff was pleasant and did a great job trying to keep hundreds of guests fed and occupied. Upon return to our room (1st floor- ocean front) located next to the outside door, we were met by water in our room. Why did Iberostar book anyone next to the outside door with a pending hurricane is what I don't understand. Guest services said "yes, that will happen because of your room location." My husband and the Iberostar staff mopped and put down towels. I was surprised it took a while for the grounds to be fully functional. I understand some of the workers had unforeseen damage to their communities so maybe they were understaffed? The site says post "Post Hurricane Beryl property is fully operational. The lazy river never opened before our departure on Sunday. Spa on the beach was not available on Saturday. Lastly, our excursions were cancelled but fully refunded. It is not fault of the resort which is why I rated as very good. I think more consideration should be taken when making room assignments on the first level when they are certain the rooms will flood in these instances. I am thankful for the staff and their hospitality despite what they may have been facing due to Beryl in their personal lives. Beryl took this one from me:( Read less

Everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The entertainment team is fantastic and so much fun and energy. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Food was okay, but we also didn't get to try out most of the restaurants because of the hurricane (not the fault of the hotel of course). Despite being worried and separated from their own families during and after the hurricane, the staff was also gracious and up beat. Hotel and pools and beach are fabulous. Lazy river...could do without, but the other pools were lovely. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! We will be back. Read less

We had a wonderful vacation at Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites! The food was delicious with lots of variety. The pools, grounds, and beach were clean, but the best part of the resort was the staff! The entertainment staff were great! Especially Prince Lavy, Don, and Stretch. They always greeted us with a smile and encouraged us to participate and have a good time! The DJ's, Stain, and Tyson always had us on our feet at the disco, on the beach, and the pool parties. Nicholas and Yanik were our favorite bartenders! By the 2nd day of the trip, they knew what we wanted before we even got to them. We had some issues with our room (the shower wouldn't drain, and our air conditioning wouldn't work), but they were quick to fix the issues when called. The scent in the main lobby is very strong, so if you have sensitivities to scents, be prepared. We have stayed at many different resorts, in different areas of the caribbean, but we are already planning to return to this one. The excellent staff made us feel so welcomed and safe. We look forward to vacationing with them again soon! Read less

We stayed 2 nights at Iberostar Selection Suites. We were there for a conference and they booked us in this section. As a couple, this is NOT where we should have been. I wish they gave us the option at the booking to stay in Grand. You are not allowed into the Grand if you aren't registered as a guest. I even asked if I could pay for a pass. You can use the resort to the right which was nice. I was stopped from even walking thru the beach at the Grand. Food is sub-par. Nothing really authentic or non-processed. It was peak mango season and did not see one single one. No Ting on the resort. Lots of buffets until dinner. If you plan to go, make reservations early for the Japanese restaurant. It books fast. The GYM is great. I did a kickbox class. They have a full schedule of events. The equipment is solid. Staff is fun and full of energy. Baywatch was a great group leader. They have paddle boards, kayaks, sailboats all in good condition. Towels are fun and they have a great system with a card so you can get unlimited clean ones with quick return of the wet ones. My biggest concern is the welfare of the staff. Everyone seemed sad, miserable, angry or bothered. So unlike the many other Jamaican resorts we have stayed in over the last 14 years. Despite tips, they were reluctant to give a glimpse of a smile. (Exception, the bartender in the Lobby Bar with the piano) During our dinner at Aunt Ruby's, we did not have our phone so the waitress hastily thru us a paper menu and said "You have 2 minutes" to chose. It was 8 pm and the restaurant is open til 10pm. The woman service jerk chicken at the beach seemed so upset, I wanted to comfort her. I hope that the management can find a way to remedy this part.
