Terrible experience by all means. From food to staff to accommodation nothing but the worse. Would not even give them 1 star. Absolutely no food selection, taste is terrible and food sitting out is dried up or recycled from before. I was in a station making eggs and saw grease dripping from vent onto the food platters. When I told one of the staff, he pushed the plate away from the dripping grease and did not put it away. Using dirty utensils from the dirty sink. Running out of coffee every day. 2 of ours friends fell and got hurt because water is everywhere on the premises and not dried up. We had leaks in our rooms that flooded 2 rooms. No concierge service to attend to you at night. Do not stay there. It’s the worst experience Read less

Anyone concerned about any negative reviews about this hotel in terms of the cleanliness of the beach, the standard of the rooms etc etc....what are you talking about. I've done my share of 5* hotels in London, America, Africa and Asia and have a good amount of experience to compare this hotel to. Yes it's not the best I've been to but it's absolutely fine. Rooms are great, so much better than some of the reviews. Pool and beach and really nice and no mad rush for sun beds in the morning. Food selection is just what you need for a week or two and the entertainment in the evening so far has been really good. The Michael Jackson impersonator last night was really good. Staff so far have been much more friendly than the staff in Barbados and St Lucia. If you're not a complete snob and just a normal couple, family etc looking for a nice trip in the sun, book it. I was worried that the majority of the good reviews were because staff here might be pressing people to name drop them on here. Not once has anyone mentioned TripAdvisor. One huge recommendation....use the fast track service at the airport. About £60 pp which includes both arrival and departure but saves 1.30-2 hrs standing in a queue at passport control. Best decision. I was worried about some of the negative reviews but so far, it's been great Read less

Just returned home from this hotel and loved the experience. I have to mention that other than not receiving welcome drinks after a 9 hour flight and the spa costings, the rest of our stay was good. The hotel is only 25 minutes from the airport, rooms are cleaned daily, there’s a variety of food at the buffet and entertainment both day and night time are good. There’s aqua fitness, Zumba, volleyball etc.. Please download the app, I found this very useful. I tried the night club which is located at the suites, usually kicks off at 11pm.. I actually loved it. We also tried the Japanese restaurant which you have to book, I must admit this was a top experience, the food is prepared in your presence whilst the chef keeps you entertained. We also ventured out, went to the Bob Marley museum in Kingston which I highly recommend. It’s approximately 2.5 hours drive. We used outa road for all transport and excursions, please see card on photos attached. He is very reliable, knows his way around and costings are fair compared to transport provided by the hotel and others. We also visited 9 mile where Bob Marley was born and buried. This tour was very interesting and emotional at the same time. There’s a shop for you to buy souvenirs and other interesting stuff 😊. On the way back from Kingston we made a stop over at the Dunns river in Ochoa Rios. This closes at 4pm so we did not get to spend much time but was a brilliant experience. We also visited glistening luminous lagoon, also another brilliant experience but was too scared to swim in the dark.. others did and loved it. Going back to the spa costs, we visited Usain Bolt’s restaurant called tracks and records in Mobay, food was lovely and charges were average, and next to the restaurant is Zurich Beauty and Spa. They were able to fit us in without a booking so I got a Swedish massage for half the price the hotel was charging and was very happy with the outcome. I must say I did not expect to pay for the use of Sauna and steam room at the hotel as it’s free in most hotels I have visited. Mosquitos are a nightmare. Despite wearing jungle formula and bands, I was covered with bites. Overall.. fun holiday, would have loved to do other excursions but time was limited. Read less

We had a great time at the resort! We liked the hibachi restaurant and the poolside bar. Sheldon AKA “Showtime” made our stay much more enjoyable. He was a great host and taught us about some of the local culture. We enjoyed hanging and talking with him!

Waves is an additional name to this hotel, so for our 4th visit we looked for "additional" features to enjoy. One item of note was that dinner reservations were only needed for Samurai (Japanese) restaurant -- yay! We went to Olivetti (Italian) or Uncle Tony's (Smokehouse) at 6pm and got a table, no reservations and no waiting. All of the food is delicious at this hotel, due to Chef Joserra and his staff. We enjoyed the themed buffet nights (Mexican, Jamaican, British, Gala, etc.), but breakfast was probably our favorite with fresh juices, fruit, yogurt, pastries, omelet station, and more. (I did miss banana bread -- so perhaps add it to the buffet for our next visit?) The ice cream shop had my favorite, rum raisin (open 3-10pm), and the lobby bar made a delicious passion fruit daiquiri! It's nice to have old favorites but also try something new. (If you like pizza, try the jerk chicken pizza at lunch! Or step outside and walk down toward the beach to the new Jerk Hut.) The staff is so friendly here, starting with the bellmen (Shane, Damon, Nikko, Ricardo), security (Angela), front desk, guest services, lobby bar, buffet hostesses/servers (Livingston, Kimberly, Loris), housekeeping, and management/staff (Presley, Angelie, Sherian). We appreciated your service, directly and also behind the scenes. Thank you for all of the improvements/renovations recently done and those almost finished! (Note: Our room no longer had a bathtub like last year, but a walk-in shower. Also, the doors and furniture had been updated.) Little things do make a big difference, like a friendly smile and "how may I help you?" At Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach we experienced this hospitality! Read less
