My family and I stayed at Zabeel Saray for 9 nights. We originally had the 4 bedroom royal villa booked, but upon arrival, we was greeted with a dingy and grubby villa. It took us around 10 minutes to decide we would not be staying. The balcony doors did not lock, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the sofas had numerous questionable stains. I think it is also worth mentioning that the villas are very separate to the hotel, and it did not feel like a resort environment. Once we had discussed with the hotel we were unhappy, we was moved to a 2 bedroom suite on the 6th floor. The views were stunning and the rooms up to a much better standard, however, I do believe that the hotel could do with an upgrade, is it a little tired. The pool area, whilst lovely, is full of screaming kids. There isn’t a designated adults pool, which I think is important. The sun beds inside the pool are a great idea, but they are also, tired with ripped cushions etc. The service around the pool was also quite slow, with some staff members stood around not really doing much. It is also worth noting that the beach is quite Shelly, but I think this is just the standard when going on the beaches on the palm (as they are man made). The breakfast was great, it has everything you could want/need. The coffees however… take agessss to arrive. Overall the staff are lovely and helpful, we had the club lounge access, which was great! The young girl who worked in there was a delight. We also spent many nights in the outdoor shisha lounge in the reception, Sam (the shisha sommelier) was amazing! Also worth noting, the driver who took us to the airport to come home, should not have a driving license!! We repeatedly asked him to slow down, and stop swerving but this made no difference!! Whilst we most likely will not return to Zabeel Saray, we had a nice experience. Read less

Originally booked a 4 bedroom villa which was so tired and grubby that we refused to stay there upon arrival. The sofas/rugs were stained, wallpaper hanging off, floor tiles cracked, crockery and kitchen dirty to name just a few issues. We were moved to a 2 bedroom suite which was better but definitely not a 5 star hotel room. Everything is tired, stained, worn and just needs replacing. The rooms are dark with dark tired furniture. The pool area is fine but not great, found some of the lounges are broken, cushions torn, lose flooring. Staff are friendly and helpful when they bother to respond to the “call button” at the pool. The restaurants were all great, Amala especially delicious. Takes ages for coffees to arrive with breakfast at the buffet, expect to wait at least 15 minutes even when it’s not busy. Such a lack of organisation, there’s lots of staff that appear to be doing not much. One person making warm drinks and one person cooking eggs and omelettes. Don’t even attempt to leave the palm on a Friday or Saturday evening due to traffic, which will get worse as more hotels open as there’s a lot of construction on the Palm. Such a shame, I’m sure the hotel was stunning 15 years ago. The spa is really lovely, green juices are delicious and freshly made. Earl and Lailai in the club lounge are amazing, thank you for making us feel so welcomed and for your wealth of knowledge. Read less

The arrival was very late, at around 2AM. It was still pleasant and the clerk offered us in-house dining free as we have missed our dinner. But when we ordered the food we got a receipt which was later canceled. That already showed on some communication problems in the hotel. This was later seen on many occasions where we did not get food that we ordered, or we called 5+ times for maintenance to repair our AC. They did come in the end and repair it, but everything needed at least 3+ calls. You don't want to be doing that on your vacation. Same was with the food and restaurants. The waiter ignored us on multiple occations for up to 20 minutes upon our arrival. THis was the case in Japanese restaurant and main one, but in the Indian the service was good. We had a incident when the noise from concert stage across the sea was so loud in our room (1st floor) that we made a complaint as we have small children with a 8 month baby. They moved us the same day in a free suite on 6th floor which was way nicer and also was so high that we had quiet nights. This was very generous from them and we are grateful.. SPA and fitness are great, really clean and nice, but the hotel rooms you can see that are worn out. I think the hotel is understaffed... Really hard-working and kind are the houskeeper/maintenance department. One even held a shower turned on when I washed baby from the sand and got all wet in the process. He was very humble and nice. And I think he was a gardener or something. Overall - last year we were in Jumeriah Beach hotel, which is one level higher. Kids club is 3x better as they have it here just as a item on checklist - almast no kids want to be inside as it so small and without any real program.. We will sadly never return to this hotel, as we feel the pricetag is much higher than the value. Read less

Fantastic value for 1000 aed (700 being redeemable in the restaurant/bar) Received a lovely beach bag with sun lotion and a gorgeous fruit platter on top) We were looked after the whole day by our own Butler - Subam. He was a credit to the hotel and so amazingly attentive- he really made our day a real treat! Can't wait to go back when next in Dubai. Read less
