Avoid if you have a young family. The family rooms are unsuitable, ill equipped and unsafe for toddlers and babies. They are dangerous, keep reading and I will explain why. We are 3 days into a 10 day trip and have been disputing between emirates and the hotel what we were sold as a family of six. We have been unable to settled or unpack and it been a huge disruption on our trip already. We have been sold a two bedroom ‘family room’ and been given two rooms suitable for the maximum of four adults with a connecting door. There is no space for buggies, baggage and most certainly no space for our belongings once we unpack. The room is tiny, we cannot get ready, relax or organised in the space we’re expected to stay in for 10 days. My two year old has been given a high bed next to a sharp glass edge and the management solution has been to pad this glass edge out with bedding. Think padded cell, a very unsafe sleeping situation for a small child. The sleeping situation is a huge suffocation risk and I cannot wind down at night as I am sleeping with anxiety and one eye open on my son. The cot provided is like a hospital crib and takes up a large portion of what the hotel are claiming to be a living call a living area. Two silly little seats and a heavy marble poser table. The bathroom is so small we cannot bathe the children as there is inadequate space behind the door to move and the glass partition is stationary giving no space to bath children. It’s even a squeeze to navigate as an adult. Emirates have been less than helpful and the hotel reception and management want no ownership whatsoever and are palming this off to emirates holidays and the booking agent. One member of reception staff asked me how old I thought the hotel was and how was she expected to change the size of room. I emailed the hotel in advance with our requirements and nothing has been met. We stayed here on honeymoon previously and this trip has fallen on our wedding anniversary and it has been tainted by the aloof attitude and stubbornness of the front of house staff. Were now in a position were we need to make the most of a £12000 trip that we are not getting what we paid for. This complaint will also be addressed with emirates on return to the UK however I’ve been left no option but to complain directly to the hotel and via here now in case any other family’s with babies are thinking of booking this in the not so distant future. Praveen who looked after our room, did a great job and always kept it clean and tidy, the towel animals were a great addition! The guy who looked after the beach area never seemed to stop working, always going the extra mile to look after guests. Also the staff at the front of the hotel always looked after us, offering to get taxis or provide water if we were walking. All in all, a great stay. Read less
