Just back from another visit to our favourite hotel. We came here for our honeymoon a few years ago and this was our fifth trip - this time celebrating my wife’s ’significant’ birthday. It’s a really lovely hotel and the staff are so friendly and helpful. One of the highlights of a stay here is to have breakfast at La Marée beach restaurant, looked after by Ishwaree, Fabrice and their colleagues. Dylan and his colleagues at the bar will keep you refreshed throughout the day and bring you some toasties etc for a light lunch. After a day on the beach or by the pool it’s great to have a sundowner on the terrace at the Quarterdeck and admire the sunset over the Indian Ocean. There is a newly-appointed barman called Fowdar who was really helpful and attentive. Most evenings we ate in the main buffet restaurant, which always has a good selection of food (the Diwali buffet was especially tasty) but also we had a meal on the beach at La Marée and treated ourselves to some fine dining at the Chateau Mon Desir. We were sad to go, although a nice chat with the doorman Krishna kept us smiling. All in all this is a terrific hotel with a lovely location and wonderful staff. I’m sure we’ll be back. Read less

I just had such a great stay at Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius! The whole experience was made so much better by the friendly and attentive staff. From the moment I walked in, everyone was so welcoming and eager to help with anything I needed. It felt like they genuinely cared about making my stay special. The front desk team was fantastic—always smiling, quick to help, and ready with some awesome tips about local spots to check out. They made everything easy and stress-free. And the bar! The barmen at Quarter Deck Bar were absolute stars. They not only served up some seriously good drinks but did it with a lot of personality and charm. They were super engaging, happy to chat, and made the evenings feel really special. You could tell they loved what they do, and it showed in every cocktail and conversation. A special shoutout to Mrs Ratee at the front desk, who was always welcoming, Mr Deven at the Belle Vue restaurant, who ensured our dining experience was memorable and Oodaye one of the barmen who was friendly and knowledgeable, making great drink suggestions. All in all, the team at Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius made my stay feel like more than just a place to sleep—it felt like a true getaway with people who care about creating a great experience. Highly recommend! Read less

The Maritim is an excellent hotel in North Mauritius. It’s set in stunning grounds and the staff and service were of an exceptional quality. We had an amazing week and fully immersed ourselves in all the activities the hotel had to offer. Highlights: Horse Riding- the stables are set within the grounds and offer horse riding through the gardens and along the beach. The highlight and pretty much a bucket list moment is swimming with the horses in the sea. The stable staff are so good and understand the horses and have trained them so well it’s an unforgettable experience. All the horses are retired race horses and are in excellent condition. Water sports - Plenty on offer such as kayaking, pedalos , SUP and sailing but our highlights were parasailing and the inflatable sofa being towed behind a speedboat at pace! Both cost extra but are so worth it! Golf - great 9 hole course with mainly par 3 holes but challenging enough. Just being able to play some holes in the sunshine alongside the beach with a view of the Indian Ocean is a win for me! Thanks again to the golf pro who was very friendly and helpful. We also played the mini golf which was great family fun and we tried the archery. Well worth it. At the core of all the organisation of these activities are the superb team consisting of ‘ Monsieur Wonderful’ and Jessica. They are so welcoming and friendly. Mr Wonderful thank you again for the extra French lessons ( for my daughter! ) , your warm humour and charming manner were very welcome to my family and it’s this that makes a difference to a holiday. The Spa was also of a high standard and available to all the family . We were offered special deals which gave us free treatments after purchasing one. Well worth it as the spa is set in a beautiful location. The restaurants we all very good but we mainly used the buffet. Excellent choice of food that generally had a choice of freshly cooked fish each day , some lovely salads and a choice of tasty curries. We were in the AI package which was fine . The drinks were all good quality with some blended Mauritius wines but mainly from South Africa so were decent . The beer was locally brewed by the ‘ thirsty fox ‘ and again was really good. The Anno1743 restaurant is set amongst the Balaclava ruins and is worth going to. It has an amazing Rum distillery bar full of some superb rums. It’s just a shame it’s only open on Friday and Saturday. Thanks again to all of the Maritim staff and team for an amazing holiday full of lasting memories. From the Allen family. Read less
