This resort is a hidden gem! Went for a staycation and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is beautiful. Our ocean view suite was spacious and decorated beautifully. We spent most of our time at the pool and lazy river (such a fun relaxing perk). The only negative to mention is that they were out of beach umbrellas when we arrived around noon on a Saturday - so we sat by the pool instead which was very nice. The staff at the pool was extremely friendly and helpful. Eager to assist with anything. We will be going back! Read less

The hotel itself is nice, and we were overall happy with the stay. I am giving it 2 stars because of the incredibly awful service we received while there. We booked a package that included a daily resort credit. Reservations advised us we would need to flag that each day in order to receive it. On day 1 we asked about it at dinner and our server looked incredibly confused “we don’t do resort credits here.” After speaking to 3 people including 2 managers, we were advised that we should have been told at check in how the credit worked. This brings me to our check in experience. At booking I requested a room on a lower floor/closer to the main area as we have a member in our family who has trouble walking long distances, but it isn’t a deal breaker. I knew this was just a request. We received this “oh I see you asked here for something on the lower floor, we put you on the 9th floor, ok?” I said no problem. We were never told where the restaurants were, where the gym was, we weren’t even told where the elevators were. Just here are your keys, floor 9. It was honestly the worst check in experience I’ve ever had. We also were a bit surprised at the $150/ day incidental fee. Not a huge deal, but seemed a little high given the state of the resort. Everything needs updated, our room door wouldn’t shut or open without putting your full body weight into it, towel hooks were falling off , bathroom door didn’t close etc. We didn’t have housekeeping clean our room everyday, so by day 4 we left the room around 10:30am and the cleaning service was next door. We asked if they could tend to the room that day with fresh towels, TP, etc. I got an eye roll and a “sure.” Please keep in mind my family is full of blue collar workers, and I’ve worked in the service industry, so I was not in any way rude or disrespectful. Just asking for the room to be tended to. In another moment when we did ask for fresh towels we were told “that’s not my job, you should ask someone else.” It honestly seemed like everyone who works at the hotel is simply miserable, unless they are working for tips. If you are looking for a place that is warm and welcoming this is certainly not the place to go. If they want to pretend to be a luxury, boutique getaway, then they should act accordingly. Given the other reviews, I was shocked with our experience. When we checked out, they neglected to take the daily resort credit off our bill until I was forced to show them my confirmation email proving we had it. They also asked if we had used our drink vouchers that we received at check in (we never received these at check in). Going on vacation shouldn’t have to be that difficult. I do want to flag we had an awesome experience with Anthony, a server in the O2k lounge. He was wonderful, and we really enjoyed our time with him! Read less

My girlfriends and I have stayed at this hotel 4 years in a row now for our girl's trip. We love the convenience of walking out the back door straight onto the beach. The hotel is clean and comfortable.

I enjoyed the room with ocean view. Pelican staff is friendly and professional the facility was clean and beach was nice. I didn’t like the food it was expensive and not seasoned. Breakfast was so so waffles were gummy. So we went out for dinner.
