The first island you’ll hit as you drive through the keys is Key Largo, most famous for it’s watersports with reef snorkelling, diving, and glass bottom boat tours out of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park as must-do activities. Neighbouring the state park you’ll find Playa Largo set on 14.5 acres of secluded shoreline, providing your own piece of paradise to stay whilst exploring this part of Florida’s famous archipalageo. The private beach is the only thing between you and the sparkling waters of Florida Bay, where you can enjoy a range of watersports right from the hotel as well as venturing out to nearby attractions (of which there are plenty). There is a laid-back feel to the resort, perfectly in keeping with the area, but that doesn’t stop the facilities and service being up to standard. From a beach shack restaurant to a ceviche bar, all tastebuds are catered for, La Marea is a particularly great choice for locally sourced seafood and freshly handmade artisan breads and pizzas. When you’re seeking serenity after all the activity, book in at Ocean Spa where you can try specially formulated scrubs using coffee grounds, sugar, and salt. The top class service doesn’t end when you get to your room, an iPad is on hand to offer on-demand services to ensure your stay is up to scratch.

Beautiful property needing to be properly maintained. Valet and front desk friendly and welcoming. Had a GREAT server (Daphne) in La Marea restaurant and food EXCELLENT! Pool bar staff not friendly and welcoming. A wedding (and there has been one on each visit) was beautiful but the band loud and right outside our room until 10PM. The hotel staff does not "warn" upon check in that there will be a LOUD band right outside your window until 10PM. When we complained, a small allowance was offered, but there was no genuine apology and the manager did not come out and speak with us. Doubt if we ever will go there again. I think the rooms (once nice) are needing to be refreshed. Beds terribly uncomfortable. Take your own pillow if you can.

As always, an excellent place to stay! We always stay at Playa Largo for our annual vacation, the resort never disappoints. The staff is what makes the stay special! Manuel and Jean at the beach bar are always there with a smile, Gaby and Milly are exceptional ambassadors to the resort! We will be back!

Horrible hotel! The room we requested was a king with ocean view. We were given a dungeon! It was so dark, we realized to hide the disgusting stains all over the room. The furniture was all stained and frayed. We checked out as fast as we could! They have 1 pool and it was crowded so if you're looking to relax there was a ton of kids so wasn't possible to relax. I did like the option to sit by the ocean and you could go in the water. They also offer fishing if you like that.

Lovely resort. Located about 10 miles north of Islamarada. Sometimes has security on gate, other times it doesn’t. Parking is easy, see where your room is before deciding on valet as you may park closer to your room; self parking with tax is about $27 a day.

Resort fee is just over $55 a night with tax; it would have been good if kayaks or paddle boards were included in this fee, but renting one for an hour was +$57 with tax/tip included.
Just so you know, your room rate will also have $40 a night +|~ in taxes.
Add it all up and know an extra $120 a night will be mandated and added to your room rate. You have to dig a little to find this out, so sharing with you here so you know what to expect.
Staff are all lovely, friendly and professional. Dogs allowed so if you don’t like that stay somewhere else.
Restaurants are all casual - room service is good and prompt. Beach is small, pool is big, lots of beds but it was quiet the week we stayed - I would not want to stay when it’s packed.
20% tip added to everything you drink and eat.
If moneys no object, go enjoy yourself!
