Rayavadee

Krabi, Thailand

The hotel

The setting for this award-winning Thai hideaway is just about as tropical screen-saver as you can ever imagine; with limestone cliffs and palm trees juxtaposed against white sand and the warm blues of the Andaman Sea. Thanks to the location, adjacent to Krabi Marine National Park, you'll find no end of excuses to stroll and soak up the scenery with beautiful gardens, coconut groves and faraway islands helping to pleasure all of your senses. Rayavadee's award-winning architecture also pays homage to the surrounding environment and local culture with an arrangement of exceptional guest pavilions presenting an authentic and calming Thai village ambience. What with the sights and sounds of Thailand fulfilling your wildest dreams it almost seems greedy to wish for anything more although, as you're on holiday, dining out is always an extra treat that's not to be missed. Five-star grills, signature dishes, romantic settings and sunset views, from underneath a limestone cliff, are what you have to look forward to and if you're expecting rice with everything then be prepared to fully increase your expectations. No trip to Thailand would be complete without a trip to the spa and as Rayavadee offers an extensive range of tailor-made packages you're bound to find the right blend of beauty, pampering and spiritual relaxation to suit your every mood. It's no surprise that Rayavadee has won a plethora of awards with Best Hotel in the World, Certificates of Excellence and The Royal Gold Medal for Environmentally-conscious Architecture all helping you get a feel for things to come.

My husband and I stayed at the Rayavadee for our honeymoon in July 2024 and it was by far the nicest, most accommodating and lovely hotel/resort we have ever stayed at. The staff was very quick to respond and attentive. There was some miscommunication regarding the arrival time pickup from the airport and the staff was immediately so responsive and proactive with helping to ensure our transport to the hotel. We had a private car take us to the pier and had a personal speedboat take us to the hotel where we were met with flowers and a welcome drink on the beach! (cue the White Lotus theme song! how magical!) Every detail was so thoughtful and well executed. We felt as if we were in our own private sanctuary from the moment we arrived. The room was incredible and the small touches the staff did to make our honeymoon extra special was thoroughly appreciated (including the complimentary champagne, rose petal bath and delicious cookies!) Our suite had two floors with a living area downstairs and then following a curved stairwell up to the second floor was our main bedroom and bathroom. Also I cannot praise the food enough!!! it was some of the most delicious food we have ever had! our first night we ate at the Grotto (highly recommend making a reservation) and we were blown away! The venue was gorgeous and the food was absolutely stunning. The photos from the restaurant page do not come close to doing the food justice! We had the scallops and the lamb shoulder for dinner which were fantastic. Just walking around the resort itself felt like an excursion. The plant life was so beautiful we felt like we were just plucked into this little jungle oasis. Also the monkeys that live on the resort were so adorable (from a distance) and it was a dream to be able to walk along with them on the way to breakfast. The pool is fabulous and beautiful if that is your preference rather than the beach although the beach area still feels secluded and private although it is a public beach. We also got breakfast every morning at the Raya Dining and we were blown away. The braised duck leg soup is forever imprinted into our memories. They had an amazing assortment of baked goods and traditional inspired asian cuisine and fresh fruits and squeezed juices along with an al a carte menu available. We were just so impressed with our stay that our only regret was that we didn't get to spend more nights at the Rayavadee and we are already planning our next trip back! Read less
