The facilities were very nice. We did have a few complaints such as our room and drinks while dining. The toilet wouldn't stop running and the towel holder on the sink fell off and you could see where somebody had shoved paper inside it to give it a tighter fit. The toilet wouldn't stop running and the towel holder on the sink fell off and you could see where somebody had shoved paper inside it to give it a tighter fit. The food was amazing but we did run into issues with drinks. The bars were super fast and the first drink at dinner was fast. The second drink order and so while dining was very slow. There was a few times we finished eating and left before the drink every showed up. There is also a lot of locals trying to sell you things and trying to get you to buy excursions on the right side of the beach Read less

An absolute shambles from start to finish - rude staff and a very run down resort. We are sandals regulars and this is simply the worst experience we have had by far .. I’m sure there will be a response to this feedback and sadly it’s too little too late after my experience the last week I firmly believe nothing will come of it and it will be simply we will discuss internally .. as per a lot of you basic responses - zero actual accountability. Very few staff came out of this with any credit - honestly we were made to feel it was a hardship just asking for basic things. The Dive shop experience was terrible - basically made to feel like I was lying by the guy In the dive shop - maybe it’s because he didn’t believe a woman was a qualified dive master - he then proceed to try and belittle me and give me a life coaching session - I didn’t want to spend any more time with him or the team there so I simply missed out - horrible experience. Funny as when he thought my husband was the diver the approach was different go figure. Johnice was amazing on the bar - she was new so maybe the overall resort vibe hasn’t brought her to the level yet ?? Reuben was good in kimonos. Food was overall poor - waited up to an hour for basic stuff. No where was busy but time and time again drinks forgotten or service was simply non existent. Took over an hour to get breakfast - I mean where did they do for it another resort ?? Club lounge being refurbished - service here was poor - couldn’t get responses on the phone constantly having to chase up even on our last day - lack of towels - constantly having to chase basics like coffee and creamer for the room and bottled water - surely you have some kind of process .. whatever it is doesn’t work. Second to last day we tried water ski-ing - again took the lesson. Broke all my nails off on the first fall - blood everywhere .. the guys on the boat not interested in the slightest .. just give us the skis and swim in - no one interested in the slightest .. made my own way to medical centre. No warning of the risks and no after care - terrible. All in all very very poor stay. We made the most of it and had a good time but it was not because of anything your team did. Makes you wonder what we paid all that money for - avoid this resort and go somewhere else if you’re going to Saint Lucia. Read less

So where to start .. this is our fourth trip to sandals, we have previously visited Antigua, Barbados and the Royal plantation. We had heard great things about Saint Lucia and this was backed up when our club room host proudly declared that this would be our best and most memorable visit ( spoiler - it wasn’t) . She then proceeded to lose interest very quickly and bail on our initial show around when we went to get some things from our bag .. this set the tone for the first day - no towels, dive shop dramas with my wife being asked to provide evidence of who her initial training instructor was even though she is a Padi master trainer (provided her card as normal and never been an issue at sandals before) and then very kindly being given life advice by the guy at the dive shop who seemed to think he was a life coach. Why was she not instructor, why had she not pursued it as a career .. how to interact with people (clearly he read this all wrong and forgot we are the customer here and on vacation ) .. and well it was enough for her not to want to go back and so she missed out on diving for the first time at sandals. All in all a pretty terrible first few hours. Eventually we got to our room and then wait .. we had to wait 90 minutes for our bags to arrive. Here onwards the trip was hit and miss - the staff were a mixed bag and in all honesty some of the least friendly staff I have encountered anywhere on my travels. Some of the team in the Italian and French in particular - short, snappy and gave you the feeling it was a hardship for them to be there. The lamb in the French is sensational, the rest of the food we had was average. Really it was a tale of moody staff - forgotten drinks or just general inconsistency in service. (Kenya was a standout for most disinterested and generally rude in her service - at one point she served a table without even looking at them - simply sharply stating your room number, what do you want .. you couldn’t make it up) it was painful to observe never mind be served by her. On the plus side there were some positives - the beach is very nice albeit not spectacular. We spent time in the south at Viceroy sugar beach and Anse Chasnet and this is not a patch on either of those resorts. Johnice and Randy at the pool bar were brilliant - chatty, friendly and what we would expect at a sandals resort. Even going to other bars to find bits if needed and always there to welcome us and chat away with a smile. Randy would pop by for fist bumps and general laughs during the day. Kimonos - was good and Reuben was great and entertaining ( he even laughs at his own jokes which makes if funnier) the wait was long we sat for an hour before we really got started and it felt like poor Reuben was the only chef going from table to table - but he was an A star performer and we loved it. In the club lounge Cassandra was amazing on the cocktails and we loved the friendly banter between the team. Sadly it was only one night we got to use it as roof leaks meant it closed so we lost the balconies for sunset and the comfort of this space and got shoved into a meeting room which however much you try to say is the same simply wasn’t in any way. I would say the upgrade here was the biggest waste on money we have ever made - you don’t even need to book anywhere at this resort and if I knew what I knew now then I wouldn’t have bothered especially with the very average welcome and service taken into account. Alexandra - the young lady who was on an exchange program and Ignacio were both really pleasant and full of praise for sandals and how they had been looked after. We saw them both a few times and their service levels and general presence was great. Little things make a difference and as repeat visitors this was a really disappointing visit. Honestly it felt like half the team just couldn’t be bothered and those that could were desperately trying to make up for the others. I’m not sure if this has put us off sandals for good or whether we will be back .. but certainly for us if we came back to Saint Lucia it would be no where near the top of the list. A real shame and some serious reflection and retraining needs to happen as the standards are very very average alongside a dated resort. Read less
