When we arrived in October (10 months later), we were told that excursion was cancelled back in March. So, why wasn't my money refunded you ask? Because they wanted to upsell us on another excursion and not give us our original 20% discount. After countless conversations I was able to get a 10% discount, but still paid over $200 more for the new excursion. I called Sandel's corporate when we returned home and was told they couldn't give us the other $60- yes, we are talking about $60 back on a $600 excursion. Buyer beware - this is what's called a bait and switch. And, each person I spoke to asked me to provide documentation of the 20% discount, which I provided - they obviously were hoping I deleted it. Plenty of activities and a great atmosphere. A special thanks goes to the Aqua team and in particular Keon, Kenvie, Captain Glen, Captain Gary, Dominique, Vanessa and all the dive staff. Take the opportunity and book a ‘Super Dive’ over to Mustique. Overall a fantastic holiday. Read less

We had a little issue with our air conditioning, because it wouldn’t go cooler than like 75°. When I brought it up to them, they said they would take a look and after talking to three different managers over a four-day period they finally figured it out and got it fixed. It was a simple, fix on the thermostat. The room was probably the nicest room we had ever stayed in with the exception of maybe a few in New York City. The resort is very beautiful. It sits inside the mountains where it’s just beautiful. It also does not have all the vendors bugging you on the beach, which is really nice unlike the sandals in Jamaica. The travertine tile they used around the pool and down to the beach is very slippery. They also have many tiles that are loose. I imagine overtime that’s going to get replaced because too many people are gonna fall and they’re gonna end up with a lot of issues, they don’t want to deal with. I’m not even trying to act like some old dude, because I love music, but the music at the pool bar is so loud you can’t even get near it. I’m 60 years old and I love hip-hop, and all kinds of music but I don’t like it so loud I can’t carry on a conversation. It’s a new resort and they’re figuring stuff out. Would definitely go back, but want to try some others before we head back to that one. Staff was very nice, but I guess maybe not quite as nice as I thought they would be considering it was a new resort. Don’t get me wrong. They were not rude, just thought they would be a little happier to have a job in that location. Read less

On arrival at this resort, I felt the wow and thought it was going to jump to the top of my favourite list. Our Club level room is by far the best we’ve had at any Sandals. However, after a few days we started to see the issues and the resort is already looking worn in places. We appreciate it’s a new resort but no toilet roll holders or door handles at the beach restroom is not ok. We also had many issues with restaurant waits, and basics food items not available. For us, the constant music that’s piped through the entire resort from early in the morning isn’t relaxing and sitting at the spa pool was the only place we could escape the noise. We’re sitting on our balcony now and the din coming from the main pool is awful. My biggest concern, however, occurred after taking the Island Hopping Tour booked through Island Routes. We didn’t get the type of boat we were told and got 2 speedboats. For $600 per couple, we had high hopes but the day was full of problems and to cut a very long story short, me and at least 2 other guests were hurt. Having reported our issues to Island Routes the following day, we were told that it would be followed up. Two ladies returned home having no resolution and I’ve spent 6 days talking to various people with no real help provided and getting nowhere. There are obviously procedural issues here as I wasn’t advised to go to the nurse until last night and no body has contacted me to check up on me. Today I saw the lady in charge of complaints and she can do nothing to override the mere 15% discount offered for something that was nothing like we signed up for and which I got hurt as a result of going on. I’m advised to send an email to someone else but I’m stunned that this isn’t being taken seriously and I have to follow it up myself. This was not a ‘Sandals experience’ for so many reasons and the total lack of concern or help from Island Routes is a disgrace!!! I have lost three days now of my holiday due to pain and I’ve been unable to do very much at all. If you have any physical issues, please be wary about booking any trips with them as they over promise then don’t seem to give a damn when things go wrong. Having been at the Returners dinner last night and seen the huge array of management here, I’m truly shocked that I’ve been ignored and not helped and resort management say they can do nothing!!! Overall, the resort grounds are fabulous but the limited choice of places to eat plus poor availability of bookable restaurants then long waits for tables and then again service have taken the shine off our experience and I’m more than ready to go home. Was here from 3-10th November 2024. An amazing property and my 6th visit to Sandals. This one is truly the best I’ve experienced, opened earlier in the year, the resort is stunning and still looks brand new. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so memorable, we will return and see you all soon. Ed and Jo 👍
