Image of the Tripadvisor rating Shame it’s associated with secrets brand

This hotel is not 5* and it’s a shame it is associated with the Secrets Brand. I have visited Secrets Akumal and Secrets Maroma in Mexico and they are amazing and I would highly recommend. This is my second day and I wish I had a flight home tomorrow. But I’m here for 2 weeks. Room has not been cleaned despite asking 3 times. I’ve had to ask for… Read more

This is my second day and I wish I had a flight home tomorrow. But I’m here for 2 weeks. Room has not been cleaned despite asking 3 times. I’ve had to ask for clean towels twice before I got them. I’m in a preferred room and given my issues and the extra money I would not think I was in an expensive room. . Rooms are very tired. Only 13 nights to go before I can go home. Read less

Here at the moment staff on strike and very limited food and drink. What disappoints me is not enough SENIOR Hyatt staff around to deal with upset guests just leaving it to junior locals who are trying their best. If you are coming in the next few days cancel and go somewhere else would be my advice

Do NOT come. The hotel bar staff are currently on strike. The hotel also has scaffolding and building work going on. Roofs and walls are being repaired with scaffolding all over. Drilling and banging all day. The staff are in chaos. There are protests outside and skeleton staff trying to serve drinks. We are packing and leaving.

This has to be the worst holiday we have had in the 20+ years traveling to Jamaica. The Hotel reviewed as 5 star on website it is definitely not, no more than 2 at most. We booked as I was retiring this year and had visited Royalton Blue waters in May. Check in was a shambles and staff were ignorant/rude as we arrived after 7 due to the traffic in Montego Bay being backed up due to rain, a 20 minute trip from the airport took 2 and 1/2 hrs not what you want after a 9 and 1/2 flight. We were dropped off at the reception for Secrets Wild Orchid but as we were Preference this was also an issue with the Receptionists. Awful. We asked where the Buffet was only to be told they did not do Buffet at night. Nightmare as we had to queue 1st of many during holiday. Next day we found out that the building next to our was getting scaffolding put up to paint the exterior. They could not have made any more noise if the tried to. They should have started with the outdated rooms. So found out that the TUI rep was visiting on the Thursday so opted to wait and find out what was going on and ask for a Hotel change. Franziska was the rep. She had a queue waiting for her. After an hr got to speak to her only to find out TUI knew about this and the hotel were claiming enhancement and not renovation what a joke. So she took our claim to be moved. We received an email from TUI asking for £2634 + £50 for admin + pay for taxi which would be around £150. what a joke. So we were stuck in this shambles of a hotel as we had paid in Excess of £9k to get here from Scotland we were not prepared to pay anymore. After a couple days it quietened down but then when we were in the room we heard the Scaffolders again only to find them outside our room on the patio. I went straight down to reception only to find the receptionist rude and unfriendly so asked to speak to a manager. She arrived 20 minute later so I took her out and showed her what was happening, she apologised and found us another room. What a nightmare. I received a call from a Manager the next day Richard Nixon and all he would do was apoligise not what we were looking for and told him we could not wait to get out this hotel and back to Scotland. The Hotel references 9 Restaurant's. Only 5 open every night with the same menu every night. These were shared with the Secrets St James Hotel on the same site. The hotel does not have any quite place to have a drink at night no Foyer. The Piano bar was a joke as they only had 1 barman at most 2 when they could be bothered for the 2 hotels as St James shared this bar. When we checked out the receptionist asked for our view on stay. She did not like our reply and asked us to score the hotel we told her 0 she called her manager but she did not arrive to speak to us then the receptionist marked us down as a 7 so they were not interested at all. Glad to be back in Scotland and will be back to Jamaica but certainly not to Secrets now we know why they call it secrets as they do not tell you how bad it is Read less
