The hotel

Set against the majestic Ko’olau Mountains and overlooking Waikiki Beach, this Sheraton hotel is a real slice of heaven. With sun, sea and sand on your doorstep, indulge in water sports, land sports, wining and dining or simply stake your place in the shade and relax. There are two incredible oceanfront pools: an infinity pool for the adults, a very serene place, or family-friendly Helumoa Pool where the kids can splash to their hearts content. If a spot of pampering appeals, head to Spa Khakara for a couples massage or an individual beauty treatment. Hungry? Kai Market serves farm-to-table fare that showcases the flavours of Hawaii perfectly. It also enjoys amazing views of Diamond Head and the Pacific – a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds! Alternatively, Rum Fire is the sensuous new spot for tapas and cocktails – boasting the country’s largest selection of vintage rum and playing live island melodies each evening. The Edge of Waikiki lives up to its name – set on the beach, it’s the perfect spot to admire the sunset over a tropical thirst quencher.

Points off for security banging on our door. As a female traveler - glad I wasn’t alone. He said it was a standard safety check, but since we had eaten in one restaurant per day billed to our room and our car in and out of parking…It was creepy. And should not have happened. A call came right before, but the receiver on that phone didn’t work.

Excellent housekeeping services by Arlene. The front desk staff especially the bell desk could do better as their staff is not friendly and sometimes rude. If it wasn’t for Arlene’s excellent housekeeping customer services, I would have rated this place two stars for bad guest service. The place itself is nice and is in a good location.

I have stayed at Marriotts around the world… almost 1000 nights. I am deeply disappointed with my experiences at the Sheraton Beach Resort in Waikiki. First, after staying over 100 nights in mid level Fairfield hotels in the first half of the year, I thought I would use my points to treat our family to a couple of nights in Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. I did as much research on which Marriott property to choose on the beach and made sure to select Room Night Upgrades so that my family of 5 might find some comfort in this idyllic locale. We had stayed at Ko’Olina in Aulani for the first few night on Oahu, but wanted the Waikiki experience. We chose the Sheraton due to the many positive reviews. On arrival here we were met with a crowded scene, almost no recognition of Marriott status, a $60 per person per night “resort fee” and a super small room with a so called “upgrade” to a beach view. The room is super small and represents no upgrade value to us. The resort is so crowded that we can hardly find a suitable place at pool or beach… this is not what I expected for my loyalty, use of (many) points, and room night upgrade amenity. I am very disappointed in our situations and am questioning whether I should maintain my loyalty to this brand or just forget about it. Further, the continental breakfast is weak and only offered to 2 of the 5 of us in the room. This is no “deal” and really not a very good reward for the dozens of nights I spend away from my family and in hotels, which up to now have been selected as Marriott brands. Suffice to say, I won’t come back here if I plan on spending a few night in the Hawaiian paradise. One is just a number here at the Sheraton. Read less

If you're the kind of person that enjoys an oceanfront, on top of the ocean, looking at turtles all day long type of view, then this is the place for you. I am a former ambassador elite but now a Titanium elite member with Marriott Bonvoy and have stayed at properties all over the place, and I can tell you that this is one of those properties that literally takes your breath away when you walk in with all the wonderful people at the front desk and getting a nice upgraded suite with a lot of other courtesies thrown in and a view to die for. To make things even better, you have pretty much full access to the sister property right next to the Royal Hawaiian so you do get the Hawaiian vibe, even though you’re somewhat in the middle of the hustle bustle of Waikiki beach. you have a ton of choices when it comes to food and drinks. My favourite was the island vintage coffee which is right next door as well as the Italian place. So lots of things for everybody and especially for families with small children. I can’t wait to be back here this coming week. Read less

Whole hotel experience has been top of its class. From valet to restaurant employees, everyone has been great. I also like to make a positive shoutout to our hotel cleaning crew. Mr. Roger, has made the whole experience great. Room was cleaned perfectly and he has been fun to talk to in the hallways. Many thanks for making our family more memorable
