Best of all was the wonderful friendly and personal service we received across the board. The Assistant Resort Manager, Clarista, and her staff made it a point to check in with us frequently and were helpful with anything we might need. One of the staff even sought out a watermelon to make us fresh juice when we inquired about it. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Read less

This will be a long review so just to summarize- beautiful and private beach, clear water and pretty good snorkeling right off the resort beach, food was VERY GOOD at the 1 restaurant they had, pool was small but nice, the view from our room was very nice but NOT what I would consider a "panoramic view," the hotel was very bare, just kind of felt plain, the rooms were also a little to minimalist and lacked some amenities such as bathroom hooks and an iron, very hilly and rooms were closer together and not as private as the website makes it seem. My wife and I came here for our 10yr anniversary, and after not having gone away in a long time, we were really looking forward to this trip. First of all, the resort is literally 5min away from the airport which is kind of amazing. 30min after you land, you can be laying down on a beach. Awesome! And once you are there, it does not feel like you are anywhere near an airport. There is somebody who brings water to you, and you can order food/drinks from which was great. There is a 15% tax and 10% service charge added to everything which is quite typical but in case you don't know, your bill will get high quick. The first thing we noticed is that the resort is SMALL. There is a tiny beach, a pool, and that's about it. The lounge chairs on the beach were filled one morning b/c there aren't more then a dozen so that was strange. The whole layout is just odd. The water is really nice though. We brought our own mask and snorkel which I used daily, but they also have these to borrow at the resort if you ask. All of the beaches are public in Grenada but this beach felt very private and I don't know that anybody would be able to access it unless they came from another resort down the beach a bit. There were never more then 6 people in the water with us and usually it was just us. The lunch and dinners at the restaurant were expensive but nothing out of the ordinary for a nice resort. The food was outstanding. Our breakfasts were included and again, the food was very good. The portions were small but we just ordered more of what we wanted and made sure not to waste food. The coffee is good, but the iced coffee was just regular coffee poured over ice, so it was very watery. We also ate at some other places around the island b/c their sister resort was closed during our stay. Very dissapointing but we did know this a few weeks ahead of time. I highly recommend Calabash which was in another resort, and Dexters which is a bit more of a local restaurant out of a house! It's a 5 course pre-fix. You need to make reservations in advance or you will not be able to get in as there are only a few tables. We also ate at La Luna which was at a resort down the beach so we could just walk there. We took a trip down to Grand Anse Beach one day and were not overly impressed. I mean the beach/water was great and we ate at a place called Umbrellas which was reasonably priced. However this is their main public beach so there were your typical people trying to sell you things, etc. When we asked to get a ride to the beach it was a Sunday and basically every place except Umbrellas was closed. It would've been nice if somebody on the staff let us know this. We also went on a private hike to a waterfall which was a great experience. The hotel booked this for us. There was no information about external amenities like the website shows, but I guess the hotel just has places they call around to book things. It doesn't seem like anything is really "partnered" officially with the website. Our room, while very nice, was a bit dissapointing to us. It's not that it wasn't nice, it just was less then we expected for the money we paid. First of all, we reserved a panoramic room, and this was absolutely not that. It was an ocean view room. There were rooms with less views, but certainly rooms with much nicer views. I have included pictures of what it looks like outside our room to the left, center, and right. Panoramic to me, means water view on all sides. Also, the back of our room was right next to the front of another room. So we had to be careful changing, etc. I really would've thought that the rooms would be spaced out more. The rooms are also very bare. Only 1 hook in the bathroom for towels was sort of a pain. I brought a few nice shirts to go out to eat but there was no iron in the room. The water in the room doesn't get hot either which was strange. Very hard to shave with luke warm water. Another thing that was weird is that we were asked if we had an allergies prior to coming here, but it did not seem that the resort did anything with that information. They gave us a slice of a cake as a welcome surprise for our anniversary which was a really nice touch! However, they should've known my wife has a dairy allergy (since they asked before we came!!) A top tier resort should account for your allergy especially if they are asking ahead of time. Until the servers got to know us, we had to constantly repeat that she had an allergy. When we went to Callabash and Dexters restaurant off the resort, they also asked us and immediately had alternate options for sides and entrees for my wife. They were prepared to accomodate her where I didn't feel that Silversands was really quite on top of that aspect. Lastly, they had a spot for massages but not a spa. We opted not to do a massage since it only seemed like 1 little room and not really very special. I could be wrong. Also the spot for massages was below their gym. Speaking of the gym, it's a small outdoor gym with just enough equipment to get a decent all around workout. However it gets HOT outside. And while they have a tent for the shade overhead, it does not really shade the gym until like noon and afterward. Most people (including us) work out in the morning where the tent just doesn't provide shade for 90% of the gym. Again just seems like something that wasn't thought out very well. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely friendly, and we went their to relax, which we did. I just didn't feel that that value quite justified the price. It felt too small and just not enough "wow" factor to get us to come back. Read less
