The hotel

Nestled on a small island in breathtaking Phang Nga Bay, Six Senses Yao Noi is an escape destination like no other. Built on the site of a former rubber plantation, the resort's lush landscaped gardens and mangrove forests provide a haven for local wildlife and hide a selection of beautifully rustic but thoroughly contemporary guest villas, representing an uncompromised level of luxury. The attention to detail and focus on the destination reinforces the resort's commitment to the environment. Each villa has its own infinity-edged pool with sundeck and is attended to by a personal villa team, trained to anticipate your every whim. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining at Six Senses Yao Noi. The Hilltop Restaurant is an exclusive venue with extraordinary views of Phang Nga Bay, whilst the Dining Room offers fine dining and a glass floor with a meandering creek beneath. For something a little more personal, dine at the Chef's Table or allow your butler to arrange a champagne breakfast, a private picnic or an evening barbecue beneath the stars. Be sure to visit the spa, one of Asia’s finest, set in a traditional Thai longhouse and offering a wealth of treatments and yoga programs. You can also enjoy a choice of cultural excursions, bicycle tours and cooking classes. But the greatest star is the bay; perhaps one of the best spots in Thailand to sail, kayak or simply lay back and marvel at the collection of limestone sentinels rising purposefully out of the turquoise sea.

We stayed in this hotel for one week at the end of our 2 week trip to Thailand & had the most amazing time. We had two garden villas for the 4 of us. They were clean & spacious with lots of generous little touches like aloe vera after sun lotion & mosquito repellent, along with the normal shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. The outdoor shower was a big hit with our children (21 and 14). Our private pools were lovely and perfect to cool off in. The beds were very comfortable. Our only minor gripe was the mosquito net which hangs off wooden branches above your bed; it would be good if they could be a bit higher up as they were at the perfect height to hit your head. The breakfast was incredible; something for everyone! The fresh fruit (particuarly the mango and the papaya were the best i've ever eaten!), my son and husband loved tucking into the local Thai foods and my daughter loved the eggs and the pancakes or waffles. The coffee offered was also delcious (you are given a choice of medium or dark roasts, different milks etc.). I was already aware that the price of food and drinks for lunch/dinner at Six Senses was going to be high. I still don't understand why, but that having been said, the lunches and dinners we did have there were amazing. Our GEM (Nubsib, he really was an absolute gem!) gave us some brilliant recommendations to eat elsewhere on the island. Our favourites being La Lluna restaurant a short walk from the resort, which serves great pizzas and steak, and also Cafe Kantary which we cycled to one day for lunch & served great salads with a lovely veiw of the beach. We also ate at Pradu one night which was great, although my daughter and i wished we had said mild spice rather than medium as it was super super hot and spicy! One of our favourite places to go was the Sunset Bar for sundowners. I think we went about 4 times during our stay! We loved our private boat trip to the islands with the ever enterainting and informative Phil (or Flip as his name is in Thai). I think it was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We loved the beach and made use of the paddleboards on offer. We also loved the pool; the view is just spectacular. Back to the wonderful Nubsib; what else can I say apart from he really did help to make our week perfect. He was always available to offer advice but he was never too pushy with anything. He even took on the role of nurse when my daughter had a problem with a dodgy mosquito bite (she didn't put any mosquito repellent on, on our first night. Big mistake!). On the day we checked out, myself and my daughter were heading straight to the airport, my son had left earlier to travel to Australia and my husband was heading to the other side of Phuket to go on a diving boat with a friend. Nubsib arranged all of our transport perfectly. I received a WhatsApp message from him as i was boarding my plane to say that my husband had left his wallet in our room! Luckily Nubsib was visiting Phuket the next day and made a little detour to deliver my husbands wallet to him. Talk about great service! Thank you to everyone at Six Senses. We had a wonderful, wonderful stay. Read less

Our second visit to Six Senses Koh Yao Noi and everything was perfect. I think this is honestly the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are great, the views are incredible and the food is amazing too. From the minute we turned up to the minute we left the staff could not have been more helpful - we even reconnected with staff we met last year who made a point of coming to chat with us. We would also recommend the boat trip to Phang Nga bay which was a great day our crew were amazing and took us to some beautiful places. We stayed in 4 other hotels around thailand on this trip including the intercontinental Phuket and Zeavola but you really cannot beat this hotel. We saw beautiful sunrises, amazing sunsets, hornbills everyday, we also borrowed the hotel bikes and cycled round the island, went to the hotel farm, visited both beaches, played tennis, had a thai massage in the spa and at nights you can see more stars than I've seen anywhere.
