There have been changes over the years both in ownership and to the hotel itself but one thing that has never changed is the wonderful people who work there. We could not be made more welcome, thank you James for inspiring your amazing staff. We would like to pay special thanks to the staff at breakfast terrace, awesome omelettes and a dangerous pastry selection. Michala and Michael who were our butlers this year took care of us perfectly, often without us even needing to ask! We spend our entire days on the beach and the beach crew are efficient and friendly and keep the rum flowing. Read less

The staff is friendly and attentive, the food at each of the various restaurants was first rate, and the rooms were clean and well maintained, The beach is beautiful, uncrowded, and safe. The scuba diving alone is worth the trip. Great visibility, the reefs are surprisingly healthy given the LionFish infestation of the Caribbean, and the instructors are very professional. I expected to dive once but had so much fun I wound up doing 6 dives. The night dives (they offer snorkeling as well) was particularly fun. Mervin and Kevin took me on my last dive but they are all truly great. You will love this place if you go. Read less

We recently returned from an incredible stay at Sugar Beach, and this place really lives up to the hype. From the breathtaking views between the Pitons to the thoughtful touches throughout our stay, it’s everything we hoped for and more. The beach is unforgettable, framed by the Pitons and perfectly set up for a luxurious, relaxing vacation. We spent multiple days lounging under thatched umbrellas, enjoying the unbeatable views. The staff was amazing, keeping us refreshed with drinks and food, and they even surprised us with complimentary frozen treats, cold towels, and sunglass cleaning! There are floating platforms in the water that let you enjoy the sun and sea to the fullest—our favorite was the ocean hammock. Just a few steps away, you can snorkel in the marine reserve, where we were lucky enough to catch a rare sight: sea turtles hatching! Traveling just outside peak season, we never felt crowded and could easily transition to the pool later in the day or stroll to the South Pier, where the jetty burgers and hammocks are a must-try. Our butlers, Anna and Shy, were truly wonderful. They saved us when we realized we’d forgotten our GoPro’s micro SD card by finding one for us, and for my wife’s birthday, they arranged a surprise that made her night. While we were out for dinner, they decorated our room and set up a hot bath in the large Victorian tub, perfectly timed for our return—a detail that meant so much to us. We stayed in Villa 303, and every detail of the room enhanced our experience. The villa itself was spacious, elegantly decorated, and very well maintained. The king-sized bed was probably the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on, with soft yet supportive linens that made for a restful sleep every night. From our room, we had a fantastic view of the Petite Piton, with a partial ocean view through the lush trees, lending a sense of privacy and seclusion. The bedroom was bright and airy, with plenty of storage space, including a roomy walk-in closet that made unpacking and organizing easy. Each room also had outlets compatible with both UK and US plugs—a thoughtful touch that allowed my wife to use her hair dryer without any need for a converter. Our private plunge pool was a highlight, though it wasn’t completely secluded from neighboring villas. However, the setup allowed us to dip in and out as we wished and still maintain privacy by stepping directly into the walk-in shower from the pool area—a convenient and romantic feature. The bathroom was particularly luxurious, with a large Victorian tub and double vanity, and the amenities and space made it easy to settle in comfortably. While we couldn’t sunbathe privately, the room’s layout and the nearby beach and pool more than made up for it. The villa was located a bit further from the main areas, but the shuttle service was quick and convenient, and all the drivers were friendly and welcoming, with Terry standing out for his warm demeanor and local knowledge. The dining was outstanding across the board. The jetty burgers on the South Pier are a must, and we loved the beachside pizza, Caesar salad, and Piton Spritz. At Bonte, we enjoyed both the regular menu and the buffets, which had so many options we couldn’t resist going back for more. Saltwood’s wagyu filet and Cane Bar’s “Kiss of Fire” sushi roll were definite highlights. Every meal was a treat, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious choices to start the day right. The Romantic Escape spa package was a perfect way to relax. Our therapists were exceptional, and they made us feel completely at ease and rejuvenated with the salt scrub and massage. Although the couples shower room could use a little more water pressure, the treatment ended with a private outdoor bath, surrounded by rainforest, champagne, and a few special treats—a magical, intimate end to a wonderful experience. The spa itself feels like something out of Swiss Family Robinson, blending seamlessly with the rainforest, which added a special nostalgia to the whole experience. The drinks with the manager event on the South Pier at sunset was another highlight. The setting was gorgeous, and you could grab some amazing pictures with the Pitons in the background. The managers were down-to-earth and genuinely interested in chatting with guests and getting feedback. A pro tip: the spa manager has a great eye for photography and can capture some truly stunning shots! We handled our own airport transfer this time, though in the future, we’d consider booking through Sugar Beach for a smoother experience. However, we did splurge for expedited customs on arrival and lounge access before departure. While not essential, these services added a touch of ease and luxury, especially upon arrival, and gave us a final chance to relax with a Piton beer before our flight. In all, Sugar Beach offers a perfect balance of luxury, relaxation, and incredible scenery. The staff went above and beyond, making us feel welcome from the start. This place has so much to offer, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Read less
