People were generally super nice and helpful. I was charged for early check in when I didn't get to check in early, but they took it off when I pointed it out (just be sure to double check your charges each night). My day room and night room attendants were really great and were very nice the couple of times I ran into them. Read less

Updating this review now that my stay is over: - THE HOTEL IS STUCK IN 2004 - YOU CANT EVEN USE THE ADULT POOL - every single lounge chair that is either in the sun, or close to the pool, you are not allowed to sit at - " for rental only". We are hotel guests - why are we being treated like visitors???? This really sealed the deal for me that i will never give this place another dime. - Wanted to charge us $4 for wine glasses to be brought to our room (just the glasses) - no amenity kits - Only one robe - No outdoor seating or outdoor options for breakfast? The place to get breakfast (perch) feels like an airport lounge (not a compliment) i can't get over why i am not eating breakfast outside when i am on a TROPICAL VACATION?????? - Limited to how many towels u can have per day LOL (wait...this is a 5 star hotel?????? You have got to be kidding me) - Towels are gross (ripped, stained) - Tried to get a mimosa - "we only do champagne by the bottle" LOL they are too cheap to open a bottle of champagne for a glass 😂 - everyone generally sounds irritated when you speak with them (no smile, no good morning!, no hope you are enjoying your stay!, no have a nice meal) - Overall zero ambiance - An alarm went off in our room (and woke us up) for 20 min - 30 min wait for breakfast (in aforesaid airport lounge 😂) - Wi-Fi literally only works in ur room - No lunch options - the one place by the beach is LITERALLY carnival food (oh yes, exactly what i want to eat by the beach on my luxury Caribbean vacation!) and the other has a very limited menu. We ended up going to the ocean club for lunch 3 of the 4 days we were there All in all - if you are used to luxury, don't stay here. If you aren't (or have kids i guess), all power to ya, but don't think this is what you would get staying at a true 5-star hotel. Walk over to the Ocean club and you'll get a taste (ambiance, service, decor, food). Realistically, it was probably our fault for choosing to stay here as it's not catered to our demo but they also shouldn't advertise as an adults oriented 5 star resort. Come here if you hate the outdoors, like feeling the soul of an island completely stripped away, and love mediocre airport lounges! ------------------ Original review : After staying at many 5- star resorts across the world, there is a quality you come to expect. I can most definitely assure you, the cove feels much closer to a 3-star resort. To start with - the rooms don't even come with so much as an amenity kit (you would never find that to happen at a 5-star hotel), only 1 robe, the closet light is broken, and we called down to get two glasses of wine and they wanted to charge us $4. JUST FOR THE GLASSES. The point of staying at a 5 star hotel is for the best in class service and attention to detail. Not to mention there is ZERO ambiance here. We were looking for a place to get a drink , and everywhere is blasting bizarre Katy Perry music — like i am on a tropical vacation...not at the Cheesecake Factory? I have not even been here 24 hours and we are already looking to move to the ocean club. This is not the experience we had expected when booking. Read less

I splurged and got a suite on a club floor with access to the Lapis lounge. Absolutely worth it to have access to snacks all day (and coffee!). The Cove is truly like no other and the service was impeccable. Seafire Steak House was so good I went 3 times! Get the Tomahawk!
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Resort Neglected

Nov 7, 2024 Jamed B leeds, United States

The resort has been neglected and in much decline. The Cove is not a luxury resort. Amex should be ashamed to have as part of their Fine Resort & Hotels. The exorbitant amount of money spent will obviously go to the bottom line. Not the care of the property.
