Our first time to Maldives but the experience was made easy by Vilamendhoo's excellent service and attention to detail. Although a family resort, we chose an adults only water villa with a similar adults only restaurant and bar. This was perfect for us - the water villas are not child friendly but have fantastic views and direct access to the shallows/house reef. The AC worked perfectly so we slept well. Snorkelling on the house reef was wonderful and the boat excursions well run: we lucked out on whale sharks but snorkelled with manta rays! Food and service were superb. The seaplane transfer worked well and was a great experience. Read less

This place is heaven, where do I start? The transfer with the seaplane was amazing and I was so excited, the views wow! The greeting from staff that come and meet you was so friendly. This was our third visit it felt just like coming home, checking in was so easy, cold towel and a drink then a few questions and you’re on your way to your room which is a lovely walk across the island - so beautiful. It doesn’t matter what villa type you have it’s all perfect. Now the reef, amazing snorkelling. My wife snorkelled twice or three times a day there was so much to see and photograph. The spa wow! just try it, it’s so relaxing the girls are so knowledgeable and de stress you it’s a great way to start your holiday. The food is great, my wife is vegan, you just need to speak to the chef and he will show you a separate menu for vegans, she was well catered for as was I, the food is out of this world . The staff - I have never met such lovely friendly, knowledgeable people in all my life, from the management to the housekeeping, waiting staff, and dive centre, all so helpful and funny , they feel like old friends and we had such laughs . The island was so clean. As you can tell I love this Island and its staff. I would highly recommend you visit this island . Thank you Vilamendhoo for great service, hospitality, friendliest staff and for the great memories . We will return, where else can you go once you have Vilamendhoo in your blood. Chris & Victoria Thank you so much . Chris & Victoria Read less

Vilamendhoo managed to perfectly fill the role of both being a private and intimate place, while also feeling just large and systemized enough that we felt that everything was constantly under control and well managed. Vilamendhoo managed to perfectly fill the role of both being a private and intimate place, while also feeling just large and systemized enough that we felt that everything was constantly under control and well managed. For safety-maniacs like ourselves, that’s a plus, but we can also see why someone would find it less charming. Vilamendhoo’s house reef is seriously incredible. It covers a large amount of the island, which means that there is always something new to see each day, like a choose-your-own-snorkeling-adventure. We spotted lots of different marine life, and the coral reef by itself is also very alive and beautiful. Despite catching wind that the island was about 80% booked when we were staying there, it never felt crowded in any way. There were always plenty of seats, lounge-chairs, sun-chairs and whatnot available at every bar, lounge, and pool, as well as attentive staff who never seemed too busy or distracted. Everything was just nice and calm. Bring more sunscreen than you think you’ll need (it is, naturally, expensive to purchase on the island - though very nice to have the option, just in case). We had a wonderful holiday in Vilamendhoo. The island is really beautiful, clean, quiet and just the right size. The Resort is very nice, with spacious, beautiful, functional rooms and beautiful bathrooms. The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms was exceptional, thanks to the truly efficient staff. The pool was also beautiful (we didn't use the one for adults only, because we had a child). The gym was also nice. The quality of the buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent, with good, special food and a very wide choice. A round of applause for the waiter who looked after us, really good, nice, kind and very professional. The after-dinner activities were nice. And then the reef...we had already been to the Maldives, but we hadn't found such a beautiful reef, large enough to walk around, full of fish (we saw turtles, sharks, eagle rays etc... practically in front of the room...) and with corals still in good health, despite the difficulties, in this sense, related to the warming of the waters suffered by the entire Maldives. What can I say, truly a wonderful holiday. Read less

Our 4th visit to Vilamendhoo did not disappoint. We decided to return to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary (a special occasion in a special place) and were overwhelmed by the special treatment we received. Nothing was too much trouble and the attention to detail was outstanding. We cannot recommend highly enough. Having previously visited in January/February, we were apprehensive about visiting in June (wet season). However, apart from one day of showers and a couple of overnight showers, the weather was fantastic. The house reef is spectacular, with an over abundance of marine life. The food is excellent, and the staff are fantastic. Read less
