I stand out five star hotel in an environment where there are many to choose from

Firstly, to be completely transparent, my partner and I are both lovers of this brand and we have now stayed at over a dozen of them around the world including three earlier this year in Melbourne, Sydney and Koh Samui where we had excellent experiences at each. I am also have Titanium status with Marriott Bonvoy.
This was a special trip as I was planning it as a birthday gift to celebrate my brother 60th birthday. It was surprise for him and we went with our respective partners. From the outset when I explained to the hotel what I was planning the hotel they could not have been more helpful and @ Johanna Staib, the Welcome Experience Manager, was 100% supportive from the outset and throughout our stay in ensuring that everything went smoothly. Johanna Staib continually checked in with us to ensure we were happy and to ask if there’s anything else that could be arranged. They helped us ensure that two birthday were not forgotten with lots of nice treats for the birthday pair.
Beyond this support the staff were absolutely amazing from top to bottom throughout. Housekeeping was as good as we have had anywhere, service within the restaurants was outstanding and everybody that worked for the hotel always had a smile on their face. Having been to Dubai a couple of times before this hotel is perfectly located away from some of the madness of the city centre, it sits on The Palm and creates a relaxed atmosphere. Relaxed for a W anyway, where there’s always some form of activity with the associated fun and sounds but that’s what we like about the brand.
There are excellent several in-house restaurants (separately reviewed) and we tried them and had very enjoyable & high quality meals. Also for elite members they use the Italian restaurant, Torno Subito, for breakfast and once again this was fantastic, slightly quieter than the main restaurant/breakfast area and with a lot more personal service. There are two swimming pool areas, one for adults which has pool parties a couple of times a week and a very busy bar, and the other for families. Whilst we didn’t use the family pool a couple of people we met said that the kids club was excellent and the beach was also very nice and well managed. The hotel has a couple of bars, one, a large one in the lobby and another on the top floor overlooking the resort. Both provided high-quality environments which we enjoyed, particularly the one upstairs (add name).
Overall, it was hard to fault anything at the hotel. Perhaps they need more Bar staff to support the pool area as that gets very busy, particularly on theme and event days, but that is a small/minor issue. We will definitely be going back again and I already looking at the opportunity either towards the end of this year or early 2025. Anyone going to Dubai should be aware of the prime season of July, August and September, when it is extremely hot and humid and generally should be avoided
