The staff is rude and doesn't care about inquiries regarding error in the room. When we approached the staff, they were completely indifferent and just said, we'll look into it. We had booked a room with a kitchen. Both the stove and toaster were not working when we arrived. We complained about this on day 1, twice on day 2 and on day 3 we got hold of the manager who promised that it would now be fixed. We got a new toaster, but the stove was broken and maintenance had unplugged it before we arrived. (this should have been stated on arrival) We were offered a new room on the 3rd day, but we were on our way to a booking and had to check out the next day, so we declined this. After all, it hadn't worked for most of our stay anyway. The agreement then became another compensation in terms of points. We never got these. Contacted both the hotel and the manager several times but never got a reply. They don't care about their customers and the manager is full of …… Really the worst service imaginable. Read less

Very nice hotel and spacious rooms for New York !. The kitchen was great and the bathroom had an excellent shower. Very nice hotel and spacious rooms for New York !. The kitchen was great and the bathroom had an excellent shower. Another great feature of this hotel, if you are on a long trip, are the public laundry machines (washer & dryer). We did Not experience issues with the elevators. The included breakfast was very good. As we were always early, we never had issues finding a seat. Reception staff and the Guest Services Manager Mr. Edward James were very nice and helpful. The hotel is close to Times Square, but also many take out places and restaurants. Access to the Subway is a 5 min walk. BTW Uber is very reliable in NY and great ! If we return to NY we would stay again at this hotel. Read less

Dangerous shower. The water doesn’t flow because of a slope. Almost no water on the kitchen. AC very noisy. Breakfast is correct - location is excellent - nice kitchenette- staff is nice. But I will never go again as I almost killed myself when I showered after my husband.

I’m a Marriott Bonvoy fan, but this was my first stay at an Element hotel, maybe it’s just not my style. The pros: The price was super reasonable, it was close to lots of things, and the room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet. We appreciated having the kitchenette because my husband arrived with a fever and it was good to keep him contained but also easily fed. The cons: As everyone else says, the elevators are small, incredibly slow and one was locked for use by staff the entire 4 days we were there. The shower didn’t fully drain, so stepping into the shower was a very slippery/dangerous endeavor. There was no texture or adhesives on the shower floor to protect you, we just learned to be extra cautious after both almost falling the first day. Neutral: Yes, they do offer free breakfast and happy hour. The breakfast is a basic hotel buffet spread and was VERY crowded. I could never find a place to sit and took my food back to my room. Honestly, skip it. You’re in New York, go get a bagel sandwich. This stay was part of a work trip and paid for by an employer. When we were on our own dime, we moved to the Westin near Grand Central and were much happier. Read less
