Pay your workers. If you do not pay your workers fairly and treat them better, then your hotel will gain a reputation as a very annoying and unpleasant place to stay. Pay your workers. If you do not pay your workers fairly and treat them better, then your hotel will gain a reputation as a very annoying and unpleasant place to stay. I was disappointed by how few staff were available to help me with my requests, how little food and beverage service was available, and how much noise was coming from the strike picket outside. This is not something I blame the workers for, far from it. They deserve to be compensated and treated better. Your executives and board are clearly very wealthy and you can afford to treat your workers better. It will make for a better hotel experience for your customers. But calling the stay I just had at this hotel--for 9 nights in an executive suite--a "four star hotel" is laughable. Read less

I wish they showed more compassion with having to stay there during the strike. I wasn’t offered anything to make up for the uncomfortable encounter with employees standing out the building ,being loud. I figured since I found out last minute, they would give a discount, offered a better room or even free breakfast. While having to sleep through… Read more

This hotel is hard to review as it is nothing like the Grand Hyatt Melbourne or Singapore. If you haven’t experienced another Grand Hyatt and are not expecting the same service as other hotels, you might like this hotel. Location is great, close to China Town and an easy walk to the piers. Very close to supermarkets and other stores. Don’t expect help with your bags when you arrive or depart. We arrived in an Uber, and there were three doormen outside having a chat. None of them greeted us or helped with luggage. This could be something that they don’t offer; I don’t know. Certainly not the standard at other Grand Hyatt’s we have stayed in. I wanted to pay for our stay in full, so the total amount was not held on my credit card; this was not allowed by the gentleman who checked us in. Check-in was quick, and the agent was friendly. We were given two bottles of water at check-in, and you can pick up two bottles each day from reception. We booked a Club Lounge room; these rooms are on a high level of the hotel. We had a corner room that was a bit bigger than an ordinary one. No robes, toothbrushes, shower caps, etc. I did see on the app that you can request these items. You couldn’t hear street noise from the room, but the walls are very thin, so you could very easily hear conversations from the room next door and them walking around. The view across the city was very nice. Club Lounge. There is no option to check in or out at the lounge. The lounge itself is very basic, and there are neither couches nor similar places to sit and relax and it is very uninviting. It’s a shame, as the view from the lounge is excellent. Breakfast consisted of fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meats, scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, pastries, etc. There is no option to order freshly made eggs, omelettes, etc. Snacks throughout the day and then an evening offering. The hot options were not pleasant. More like food offered in a cafeteria, it did not feel like it had been made in the restaurant of the hotel. It did not improve over our 4 nights. Wine, beer, and spirits are not included; they have an honour bar system. Wine and beer $5, spirits $7. The club is certainly not worth paying extra for; we have experienced a lot of club lounges, and this is the most disappointing one by far. Staff in the club are very quiet but very nice. We left a bag in the club and didn’t realise. Ben went out of his way to get the bag back to us, which we were very grateful for. Checkout was quick, and we left our bags there for a few hours due to a late flight. We were given access to a bathroom to change after collecting our bags. The hotel is on the older side and could do with a renovation. Overall, a very disappointing stay. Read less

I stayed for three week nights and, despite the ongoing strike, the staff there did their absolute best to ensure a smooth guest experience. Everyone I encountered had a smile on their face and I sincerely want to thank each of them for providing great service during a tough time. The room was clean and neatly serviced each day, nothing to complain about. The front desk was able to put me in a room away from the front so the noise wasn’t too bothersome either. Hotel work is hard work. I so wish Hyatt and the union could come to resolution soon so these hard working folks can get back to normal life with financial security. Downtown SF needs good paying jobs - the empty storefronts around every block is heartbreaking. Read less
