Hilton Atlanta

The hotel

There’s nothing like shooting hoops against a skyscraper-swept backdrop. It’s also the view enjoyed while playing pickleball or take a morning rooftop jog at Hilton Atlanta. Don't worry, it's not all about fitness here - you're just a stroll from CNN Center, World of Coca-Cola, and Georgia Aquarium. You could also head to the Southern Elements restaurant, offering traditional Southern Cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or find yourself in the Trader Vic’s, featuring hand-carved tikis, palm-thatched ceilings, and south pacific décor offering an international menu and tropical cocktails, including the Peachtree Punch, a signature cocktail of Trader Vic’s Atlanta. The star here is Nickolai’s Roof, a penthouse restaurant whose menu’s drizzled with fine dining buzzwords like ‘veloute’, ‘confit’ and ‘truffle demi glace’.

The restaurant in the hotel was a huge pro for this property. We were able to get a beverage in the evening and enjoy it without having to be out on the streets which at night in this area did not interest me. The rooms were clean. Cons: the property is on the older side, understandable for downtown, however, updates could have easily been made. The fitness center was the worst I have seen in a Hilton property in years. It was almost unuseable. I often choose Hilton for the Peloton and other quality equipment. The Peloton was not functional. It required a passcode which the hotel staff knew nothing about (initial setup requirement). The water bottle holder was cracked and the bike was in poor condition. There were three treadmills. Only one was functioning appropriately. The outdoor pool and spa were closed for over half our stay. There were only four lounge chairs total in the pool area. I enjoyed spending time in a fun city with our family, but my stay was average to below average. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating 50.00 Credit deal is a Scam!

Jul 6, 2024 Laurie S Woodstock, Georgia

I booked a room on a special where I would receive a 50.00 credit on purchases at the hotel. Had a drink at the bar, then dinner at one of the hotel restaurants. Hilton credited me 15.00 for the drink I had but did not credit the remaining 35.00 for the 100.00 dinner. I called them the next day after noticing the billing error. Customer… Read more

Customer service indicated that they would adjust the charge and give me the full 50.00 credit. Well guess what, my card was still charged the full amount and NO credit applied. I'm guessing that the staff thought I wouldn't verify the adjustment? Super shady business practice in my opinion. Do Not Trust This Hotel's Billing Practices! Read less

This was the worst hotel experience of my 40+ year life. It was downright dangerous and I honestly feared for my health. I attended a conference and arrived the day the water mains broke in downtown Atlanta. I understand that is completely beyond the hotel’s control, but their response was abysmal at best and dangerous at worst. They did not communicate any issues with the water or how to adapt without it. When I asked about what to do about bathrooms, the front desk stuff shrugged. You had to know who to ask to get bottled water. My husband actually had to call from out of state to get several waters for me- someone with a kidney condition. I asked about switching hotels and was told that would be on me. When the water did come back they did not have communication about there being a boil water advisory. Luckily a friend in the area let me know. In addition to all of this, there was an out of control fraternity reunion the night before the conference requiring police intervention. An absolutely horrible stay and the staff/ management did NOTHING to compensate guests. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Good for large groups

Great stay while traveling for the CFA Peach Bowl. The rooms were nice, clean, and quiet. Overall, we had a really good experience traveling with a large group, and the staff were very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again traveling alone or with family.

Hotel was OK. Conference meals were decent (breakfast) to good (dinner). Certainly convenient, but also a bit in need of update. Biggest challenge was the party that went on till midnight on the patio. (The music carried up well past where I was on the 5th floor.)
