If you check in at night or come back to your room at night expect to see that all of the benches directly outside the hotel's front door are occupied by the homeless who are allowed by the hotel to sleep there. If you check in at night or come back to your room at night expect to see that all of the benches directly outside the hotel's front door are occupied by the homeless who are allowed by the hotel to sleep there. There were garbage bags of their belongings everywhere. Additionally there were 10-5 transients sitting on the benches smoking pot and high as a kite. You actually had to work your way around to get in the door. Once inside expect to get in line to wait for the 2 extremely slow elevators. When I was there the line was out the door. There were signs telling you to build the elevator wait time into your comings and going. Completely unacceptable. We will never stay there again. Read less

This hotel is located 10 minutes from everything! It's a 10-minute walk to Times Square, Broadway theaters, subways, and many restaurants within seconds of exiting the hotel. Like many hotels in NY, rooms are small, but beds, showers, and amenities like Dove are fantastic. Rooms feel safe, clean, and have a mini-fridge. Upon arriving, GSA Karolin was fantastic, welcoming me as an IHG member and leaving a pleasant experience. I would totally stay here again. The only con (which is not part of the hotel) is the public space in front, which sometimes has riff-raff, giving a bad impression for the hotel. Read less

Completely honest review from our experience, upon arriving we were treated by between 6 to 7 home less people in the bench’s outside, and a over whelming smell of pot/weed, there were 4 crates of dirty washing outside waiting to be picked up, this was a daily site, reception we got checked in quick, reception is the most unwelcoming entrance… Read more
Completely honest review from our experience, upon arriving we were treated by between 6 to 7 home less people in the bench’s outside, and a over whelming smell of pot/weed, there were 4 crates of dirty washing outside waiting to be picked up, this was a daily site, reception we got checked in quick, reception is the most unwelcoming entrance I have ever had at an hotel, only one lift work for 4 out the 5 days we were there, super slow and you can be waiting up to 10 mins, room was as we expected small but just a base, was not clean on arrival and never was, beds and towels done every day, New York it’s self, we we did a lot and loved it, worst one was the edge, although the views were amazing it to 1 hour to exit and that’s being genuine, didn’t see any violence but never made eye contact with anyone , seen the Halloween parade amazing, over all we loved New York but would not stay at the hotel again, we did 9’11 / history museum/ madam’s tusards/ the edge/ statue of Liberty and the Rockefeller Centre top of the rock, the intrepid war boat, Central Park the red steps in Times Square, the whole of New York to be fair does smell of pot and the taxi driver who took us to JFK was literally on her phone the whole way both hands which was quite scary, Read less

Great location. Room decent size. Only 2 elevators and one broken the last two days we were there. We were on the 21st floor. Yesterday morning we waited 25 minutes and this morning it was 45 minutes. Supposedly someone was working to fix the problem.
