The hotel

In a city where it's all about location, nothing beats a stay in Manhattan's theatre district, moments from the most guidebook-worthy sights, shops, and dining. You can survey all that surrounds you from Bar 54. Fittingly named, it sits on the 54th floor of Hyatt Centric Times Square – making it the highest hotel rooftop lounge in the whole of NYC. It doesn't just give you magical Manhattan views though, it also delivers small plates, handcrafted cocktails, and unique seating in igloo-style bubbles. You can get a view on Manhattan from your guest room too, with its floor-to-ceiling windows sure to distract from the complimentary Wi-Fi. When you're not staring at or exploring the city, the hotel's also home to Times Square's only full-service spa.

Stayed here on a 5 day trip to the big apple. Perfect location for so many tourist spots and not a long walk to the stunning Central Park. Room is spacious and very clean. Would recommend. Do remember the city destination tax, around $40 a night.

All around amazing! Highly recommend and will be back again. Room was clean, staff went above and beyond. The location was on point and close to everything. We travel with 2 kids and it was perfect. Deffinately recommend for kids and make sure you go to the rooftop to see the view. It's amazing.

If you look at the negative reviews, you'll notice a pattern - terrible reception staff and hidden/extra charges. This is very common at this Hotel and was also my experience. Upon checking out, I saw hundreds of dollars worth of incorrect charges, which I eventually resolved with the member of staff at reception. He then assured me that these charges would be removed and confirmed this, with a printed invoice. When I got back home, I later found out that they had still charged me for some of these Incorrect costs, even though I was given written confirmation, stating the opposite! It's been almost 3 weeks and I still haven't had my money back! The e-mail communication is either non-existent, or very muddled. This communication is also a reflection of the verbal communication, that I received during my time at the hotel. On top of that, there was no warmth, no personal touch, they all seemed disinterested. I've been to a lot of different countries and stayed at a lot of top Hotels (including Hyatt ones). This is clearly an average hotel, masquerading as a top one. It is much too expensive for the sub-par service provided. I was actually celebrating a special birthday whilst there and opted for a more expensive room - nothing extra was given and there was not even any acknowledgement of the celebration. I do also have a World of Hyatt membership but, that didn't even seem worth mentioning at a place like this, especially with how rushed check-in is. If this is the premium experience they provide, then I dread to think what you're going to get if you pay less than I did! Make the smart decision and avoid this hotel, because paying extra money for extra hassle and poor service, doesn't make any sense. There are plenty of great hotels around the area and some slightly further out, which are much better value for money. I wish I had opted for one of those instead! P.S. The air con made a terrible rattling noise, the room was dusty, and the cleaning lady was extremely rude and unprofessional. Read less

What an unbelievable stay we had at the Hyatt in Times Square with our two children. Every staff member we interacted with was so kind and friendly from the valet, front desk/check in, lobby security, and T45 Market. The check in process was so smooth and appreciated the online check in option. The room was exactly what I expected, if not better! It was extremely clean (shout out to house keeping!) and had a perfect amount of space with an unbelievable view. I would recommend the high floor, you won’t be disappointed! The elevator was quick and the extra security with tapping key card and monitoring the lobby was appreciated. We ate at the T45 market and it was amazing! The coffee was delicious and the breakfast we had was perfect! Loved that we could grab a quick bite in our hotel! The staff there was the BEST! This hotel is a close walk to everything you want to do yet far enough from the Times Square chaos. The area felt safe and the hotel staff went above and beyond to make that happen. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return! Read less
