Free breakfast, clean rooms, good beds, and excellent location. We loved our stay which was 4nights/5days. Also, the neighborhood had great options for dinner, bars, and markets.

My wife and I planned a 3-day trip to NYC for her birthday and decided to stay at the Hyatt House in Chelsea due to the location. While we had a nice trip, the hotel experience was average at best. First the good - The location is great! Convenient to a lot of things, near two subway stops, and the Fairway market on 26th street. The hotel staff was (mostly) friendly. Not overly welcome or helpful but decent. The hotel has great views from the upper floors. The bed was comfortable. Hot water worked! And the room was clean and since we had a suite, it was nice to have a kitchenette. The Bad - When we got to our room and unloaded our clothes into the pressboard "dresser" located in the room, the dresser collapsed and fell on my wife, injuring her leg. Apparently it wasn't properly anchored to the wall. Then we discovered the shower was not working properly and the sink in the bathroom had no drain plug and my wife lost an item down the drain. Also the microwave was initially not working properly (maintenance fixed it). The MEH: the breakfast left a lot to be desired. If you've been to a Holiday Inn Express it was a step above that but more comparable to a Hampton Inn breakfast, definitely not as good as a Hilton Garden Inn breakfast. But it was included in the price so that was good. The fitness room was super sparse - no cable machine, just a few free weights (some were missing) and some cardio machines. Overall we would probably stay there again but again, I have had better experiences for a similar or cheaper price point. Read less

This is our favorite home-away-from-home in NYC. Ideal, central location with a beautiful rooftop view of the Empire State Building and 6th Ave. Clean rooms, with a kitchen/fridge that allows us to keep snacks on hand as we explore the city.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with our two grown up children in June 2024. We had two rooms, both studio suites with kitchens, one of which was a one bedroom suite. The rooms were great, located on the 28th and 29th floor with fantastic views over the city. The one bedroom suite had views of the Empire State Building and Chrysler building. Both rooms had a sofa bed, which we used in the one bedroom suite, as well as well equipped kitchens. This included a large fridge freezer, sink, hob, dishwasher and microwave. The washing machines in each room were a godsend as it was incredibly hot whilst we were away so we were able to freshen up our clothes. Bathrooms were a nice size – one had a walk in shower, the other was a shower over the bath. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast was included and I was sceptical having read negative reviews before arriving. However, I was pleasantly surprised. We managed to get a table every morning (admittedly we were up early) and the hot options were piping hot. There are three hot options which rotate each day, ranging from eggs, pancakes, sausages and potatoes. There was also plenty of cereal, toast, muffins, fruit and yoghurt. The location of this hotel was a fantastic base for exploring. Short walks to two subway stations which we used to go downtown to the World Trade Centre and Brooklyn, and uptown to Central Park. Everywhere else we walked to. Times Square is about a half hour walk, Central Park about an hour. There is a McDonalds straight out the front of the building and a 7-11 across the road. Bit further along is a Whole Foods supermarket and a Trader Joes for those fridge essentials! We checked out early on our last day and were able to store our cases in a locked room. Reception sorted a taxi for our return journey to JFK. All in all a very pleasant stay at this hotel and I would recommend it. Read less

We stayed at many hotels in manhattan for the last 2 decades mostly in Times Square: Softeil, Doubletree, the Pearl, crown plaza and many others, so, we were thinking that our stay at the Hyatt house might be a downgrading, which was definitely not. Location was more convenient for our needs, room was okay, a little bit smaller than we thought, but it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job, the only problem that most of them couldn’t speak English. Although the hotel was fully booked we never experienced a problem with the elevators. Breakfast was a huge plus. Last but not least, we would like to thank Sasha DaCamara the front desk supervisor, who is an excellent multitasker, very friendly and knowledgeable. Hyatt house hotel should be proud of having such fine caliper employee. Read less
