My wife and I just finished a two night stay at the MVC Pulse in San Francisco. I definitely recommend getting a courtyard facing room to avoid city noise. Overall, as a Marriott owner, I'd give it an "OK" grade. Location was good, and the room was comfortable. However, it is definitely more of a hotel than a typical vacation club resort. Also, they state that valet parking is $75/night, but that doesn't include the $10.57 in taxes per night, so actually parking is $85.57, plus any tips you give the valet. Great hotel which was clean and comfortable. I loved the style and decor of the rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no ATM at the hotel which I thought was odd. Also try not no get a first floor room adjoining the courtyard . They get noisy at times with no privacy,

We stay here first time and we're initially worried about the conditions after reading some negative feedback. However we ended up feeling happy with the hotel. We were given level 1 room just across the elevator lobby. There was a pair of ear plugs given supposed to help us to block out noise. Ended up the room although faced the road was quiet enough for good sleep. The bed was abit too soft though. Shower water pressure was good. On each floor there is a filter water machine for free refill. It even came with favour drinks too. On level 1 there is a courtyard for guest to have some activities and play some games. The hotel provided some daily activities for guest too. The walk to pier 39 and the wharfs were about 10 min walk. After dark, it could be a scary walk back though. The masen line cable car is just round the corner of the hotel. The best part is there is a walgreen store opening till 10pm across the hotel. Read less

Location is great, but the air conditioning is SO loud!!! We finally had to turn it off. Also not a fan of the pushy sales. We tried to get by the sales desk.. .nope.. they chase you to the elevator. Staff is very friendly. Uber cost $40 from the airport. It took about an hour due to an accident. No breakfast. Pier 39 is a 10min walk as well as… Read more

Chinatown and little italy about 30min walk. Area around the hotel felt safe. Check-in was fast. We were able to leave our bags as our room was not early. They said they would call when the room was ready. We never got a call. Walgreens and Trader Joes around the corner. We liked the room decor. Room size was good as well as the bathroom. Bed was comfy. Pillows a bit hard. Overall, we would sfay here again for the location, and the price was fair. Read less

Absolutely the friendliest place ever. Every single employee greets you every time! It was a 50th anniversary trip and we were welcomed so wonderfully, a gift basket was in the room when we came back from one of our many excursions. Two small drawbacks, One was the where the safe was in the room, it was on the floor of the closet, hard for old folks to get to...but I use it so I don't misplace things more so than keeping them safe. Two, the cost of the valet parking. It was more than the rental car and more than any of the overnight parking garages in the area. I enjoyed the decor, and knew going in there was no restaurant but so many are so close and there's always delivery!! Pier 39 is a short walk away as are many other sites. Bus stop and trolley are close also. The concierge service is wonderful, ready to help with directions and suggestions. Honestly the friendliest place we have ever stayed. We had a courtyard view on the first floor and were impressed by how quiet it was. Read less
